Alright, let’s just get some...

Alright, let’s just get something clear here, anybody can log on to a computer, create a password and a screen name. So don’t you think then it’s possible for ANYBODY to write some sort of a scathing inflammatory diatribe on how terrible their business is????? It is, just as sure as I am posting this response. I came to the web to check REM’s business record out and see if there were any negative postings. There are of course, and they are all negative. Yet I went there anyway. So for you guy’s who might be thinking of using this shop for your engine work,, DO IT!!!! THEY KNOW HOW TO BUILD AND TUNE AN ENGINE PERIOD!!!



I brought my ole 69 Ford Truck to REM and they did the following: Complete head and valve work and new rocker assembly, DONE RIGHT. They had to fix the substandard work done by another shop. They installed the heads, an Eldebrock performer 390 intake, Holley 750 double pumper, and the rest of the hose’s, brackets, headers, etc… ALL DONE CORRECTLY. REM made the selection of Carb and intake. It’s not what I had on it. Their correct matching of the cam profile and KB pistons compression ratio was the ticket. This truck runs better than it ever has.



In conclusion, give them a try, if you have the need for custom engine work, or any other machine shop needs, you will be satisfied

Roseville Engine Machine Sucks

If there was an option to rate them Zero Stars, I would. It took Colin over a month to get simple parts. Every time I checked on my parts I was told, "should be next week". Same bogus excuses as others have mentioned, he blamed the book keeper and other people in the shop every time. This went on for about two or three weeks. Finaly, he ordered my parts and had them for me in a couple of days but charged me for express shipping. When I tried to return some bad parts he said he would see if the vender would take them back and to come back next week, which turned into the next week, and the week after that, and so on, and so on. When I got sick of his BS and demanded my money back he came around the counter, got right up in my face, and challenged me to step outside to settle it. When I told him I'd see him in court he threatened to kill me.



Do not do business with this guy. He'll be your buddy one day and a complete A-hole the next. It's pretty obvious that he has drug issues. And if you ever have a dispute with him - watch out! I almost filed a police report on him and I probably should have.



Colin Box is a mess and a disgrace to the business his father started and successfully operated for years. Marshall was a good guy, a knowledgable and skilled machinist, and a great businessman. It's too bad, because good machine shops are becoming more and more scarce.

you rock man !!! ive been going throught the same bull---t !!! im one of the so called boat owners that cant seem to pay .. lmfao !! this guy has to be running a drug front outta here because he just isnt interested in my cash and we are talking cash under the table !! this guy is a total wack job and you rock !! thanks for posting and helping all fellow customers out :o)

Nightmare ZERO Service & Class

In a nutshell, a small repair on a re-built engine we bought turned into a Nightmare. Colin's words "I stand behind my work." Don't hold your breath and don't take his word! We have been scheduling appiontments with his shop for about 30 days now and every time the day of he cancels. Here is a short list of excuses I won't put them all they are lame...The swamp coolers are not working it's too hot, a guy has his boat in the way he can't pay, we are waiting on UPS to bring parts can't finish the work that is here...and on and on the list goes! Talked to Colin yesterday he said no problem call me at lunch tomorrow and we will do it at 6 or 7 tomorrow night once it cools off. Called him at lunch he had Judy take my call and started cussing up a storm in the backgound. A few of the things I could understand were...it's too hot, I'm going to a street fair tonight, I'm busy counting money...and the most interesting was tell them to stick their boat up their a**es.



I have a prediction...the money that you're busy counting will soon run dry! On thing is for certain, there will never be another dollar of ours spent in your shop nor will there be any referrals. We will be taking down our links off the net that refer you. Also, we will be spending time with 23 other boat owners this weekend and will share our experience with all of them so they don't fall into your poor service trap. In addition, we have many friends who collect muscle cars including ourselves and the plans we had in the future to do business with you and refer that group are now history!

Warranty repair

All I can say is dont go to this fool for anything !! I have no idea how he ever got a contract with a large company to be their factory warranty repair center . If you use your engine for work this guy will string ya along and cost you nothing but money on empty promises of getting your engine running . I will definatly be contacting the engine mfg to let them know what I think about their Roseville represenatives !!!!!!!!!!

Not where to go if you want the work done any time soon.

Very personable and will promise you it will take only a couple of days....just to get your business, but will give you every excuse in the world why the smallest job takes weeks to get done. Let's his personal life take presidence over customer service. Not to mention his explosive personality when you question why the work isn't done. Has no clue how to run a business. Claims other things are wrong that need fixing when it is not necessary.

Just dont go there

I had a bad experience with Roseville Machine..... Not the quality of the work but the over promise and under deliver !!! dealing with a total looser is what made it a place that I'd never do business again with . Colin Box (owner) is a super poor businessman and is also very bad at dealing with the customer !!!!!!!!!!!! He will let his emotions get in the way of handling the job like a professional and wind up driving away customers in a big time way . He cannot concentrate on any 1 thing at a time ... can have 5 things going at once and cant seem to get any of them done ... will come at you as a nice guy / friend and wham ... A REAL FREAK HERE !!!

I had a bad experience with R.E.M. Not the quality of the work. The quality of the people is what made it a place I will not ever do business with again. Colin Box (owner) and Pat Box (brother) are poor businessmen and very bad at dealing with the customer. They both have high school dropout mentalities and cannot fully accommodate the customer's needs. They let their emotions get in the way of handling the job like professionals and wind up driving away customers. They have too much surrounding competition to be so uneducated in their business practices and so uneducated in general.
