Bought a parrot from them. An employee chopped his wings off. My vet was horrified and disappointed by the way this was done saying my bird was uncomfortable not being able to rest his wings because she didn't leave any feathers to lie against his back. It would be like you or I always holding up our arms without rest. HOW CRUEL AND IGNORANT IS THAT?? Also, by chopping them, she left sharp tips which always poked him. Another thing, I had to watch him for a whole year against falling (until his feathers grew back). My vet said that by not leaving ANY feathers, he couldn't descend properly if he fell and that could split his keel (breastbone) which is very difficult to heal or worse, he could break his beak and not be able to eat and die. Who knows if she cut any blood feathers? I told the district manager and she said she would do the wing clippings... huh? At least PetCo has a vet do that! I got no vet certificate and had to chase them for 4+ months for my hatch papers, never got it from them, got it from the breeder directly. I also own tortoises. I adopted one who had a liver disease from chemical poisoning and was anorexic. He needed something special which they carried but noticed I was buying the last one on the shelf. I asked if they would have more, explaining that I really needed it. They said they would get it. Next month, it wasn't there. I repeated myself, I really needed this product and another note was made. They never did get it for me. Would you shop here?
