The recent scattered power outages combined with heavy rains were the first test of an extensive sump pump and collection piping installed over 1 year ago in our basement. This included the backup batteries which were suggested by ASAP and installed by ASAP. Upon losing power on Monday the backup batteries failed to function resulting in the need to hand empty the sump pumps until such time as the power was restored by Pepco.



Despite two calls placed on Monday, 4/21 between 5 and 6 pm, a return call was not received until 130pm on Wednesday, 4/23. Gary, who contacted me, indicated that the batteries were not ASAP's responsibility and proceeded to deny any responsibility for the backup system ASAP recommended, installed and received fair value for including the supply of two large batteries which I assume included a markup above ASAP procurement cost.



No attempt was made to offer to come out and test the batteries and/or the backup system. The call ended after several minutes when I hung up being very frustrated and ultimately dumbfounded by the obvious lack of a customer service mindset to what should have been a fairly routine follow call to our residence. This is very suprising as the initial experience(negotiating/installation) with them was reasonably favorable.



Bottom line from my experience: your on your own with battery backup systems supplied by ASAP. Beware!
