We have a new baby and it was cold at night. I called thinking I would get a machine and leave a message but Andrew answered and was out to us within 60 minutes. You can't beat that. He only charged us $180, which was less than the other two companies I called the next day to compare. And there was no overtime charges for coming out in the middle of the night. We were very impressed and will be calling this company with all of our air conditioning and heating needs.

On Sunday at about 2pm our house started getting muggy and hot. I checked our a/c unit and it wasn't running and the temp inside was up to 80 degrees. It was 98 degrees outside. I called one a/c company and they told me that they could come out on Monday between 10-2. That obviously wasn't an option. I called another and they wanted to charge $90 just to come out. I found A Better Deal and they said they could be here within the hour. I was leary of a company that could be here that quickly, but we couldn't handle the heat any longer. Andrew showed up exactly an hour later and he popped off the panel on our unit and diagnosed the problem immediately. The part needed was on his truck and within 30 minutes our house was cooling again. He explained everything and was very professional. We have found our a/c company from here on out. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Great company, good employees and fair pricing. Use them and you'll be happy.

What???? We didn't have to wait a day or a week to get someone out??? What??? We didn't have to empty our bank account to pay them???? Wow! I'm sold!!!

They came out the same day, fixed our problem and didn't charge us an arm and a leg. We will be calling them back out soon!

Approximately 6 days ago our AC stopped blowing cold air. We called a company (not this one) to come out and give us a diagnostic. After spending 5min outside at the condenser, the guy came back in the house and sat himself down at my kitchen table without saying a word. I went to him and asked what the problem was. He told me that the compresser had burned out and that I would need to have the condenser replaced for $2700. I told him I didn't have the money at that time. He told me it didn't matter what I decided to do because he was going home to a cool house. He then started preaching to me that most people think HVAC companies were crooks and they should just believe what they say because they got paid by the hour. Myself (seven months pregnant), my three children, and my husband spent the next 6 days in the unforgiving Texas heat (in August) sleeping on the living room floor in front of fans and a borrowed window unit which didn't help much. Today, I finally had the $2700 that I was told I needed to fix the AC. Instead of calling that company back, however, I tried A Better Deal for a second opinion. A very professional technician, Sammy, came out and after carefully inspecting the condenser got to work immediately. While working Sammy told me that we did not need a new compresser and certainly did not need a new condenser. Only the contactor needed replacing as it was suspiciously burned out. Also, there was very little freon. I had not told him that someone had been out to look at it before, but he knew immediately that someone had "checked" prior to his arrival. He replaced the contactor and put in more freon. The job cost $345 total. We felt the difference immediately as the house began to cool. I was literally fighting back tears of relief. I had already sacrificed getting school uniforms for one of my children, was unable to get this month's groceries, and had to borrow the rest of the money to get money I really didn't need. But I felt I had no choice. Places that try to rip you off don't realize how it affects you when they are saying anything to get your money. Thanks to A Better Deal, we are no longer suffering. Bless you guys! I will be contacting the BBB about the other company immediately.

We had thme out on a Sunday and they fixed us right away. They had the parts right on the truck and didn't charge us an arm and a leg.

Poor service would not use ever again.

We called out A Better Deal after being jerked around by comfort Experts for 3 days. Tony came out within 2 hours, was professional, honest and had us up and running in no time. It's good to see that honest Christian companies still exist in the metroplex. We highly recommmend this company!



11/05/11 Update: We again called out this company. This time it was for plumbing. Ironically the plumber's work we called them out to fix used to work for them. Thankfully he is no longer there!! (See my review on Buckeye Plumbing!) Lester, the good plumber, came out and was friendly, knowledgeable and explained everything he did (which was to fix bone head's work) And they actually have a guarantee on their work. Unlike Buckeye Plumbing who took our money and ran.
