Life Insurance
Life insurance has many purposes. One general purpose of a life insurance policy is to replace income if the insured dies prematurely. It gives peace of mind to the insured because the monetary insurance benefit is given to the insured’s family or survivors. It’s as though that individual was still alive and generating income. The insured knows that if something happens to them, their family will be taken care of.
Health Insurance
With another year of Open Enrollment past and closed, there are requirements you must be able to meet or changes that must occur to get health insurance.
Disability Insurance
Disability insurance secures an individual’s income at least partially if he or she is disabled because of an illness or injury and unable to continue doing their occupation. Policies vary in what the definition of a disability is. Some policies pay claim if the insured is unable to do the job they are qualified to do, for example a surgeon. His pay is up quite high and his skills are tuned to that one job. If something happens to him and he is unable to continue work as a surgeon, then anything else he does will not give him the income he may have planned for or need. Thus disability insurance protects that lost income.
Long Term Care
Long term care insurance is to provide finances to pay for the expenses of long term care. An example of a long term care need is an individual that is unable to take care of himself and is put into a nursing home. Money is necessary to stay in such a facility. The national average cost for nursing home care per day in the United States is $200. At this rate people eat through their assets very quickly. The long term care coverage provides stability and security for assets and future gifts to heirs or charities. In the state of Idaho, the dollar amount of long term care insurance a person buys can be protected from seizer by the state if the person uses up their benefit. For example, if a person buys $250,000 worth of partnership long term care insurance and uses the whole amount for assisted living or long term care, then the state will provide Medicaid and leave the insured with $250,000 in assets.
Dental Insurance
Dental Insurance is for care of teeth. Generally it's greatest benefit is that of preventative care (dependent on plan), but also assists in larger expenses after certain participation periods have been met.
