Big Valley Animal Hospital

i called the office at 4am when I noticed my dog was bloated and left a message for the var.A lady vat called me back and gave me a run around.Took my dog into the office and they xrayed him.he had twisted stoamch and was in critical condition.They sent me to state College.What kind of vet is this.My dog was 3.He died shortly after we got to the vets in State college.State College is 110% better.The vet in State college was shocked that Big valley treated my dog this way

My dog was misdiagnosed at this vet office. I acquired a second opinion in State College, PA. and was given the real diagnosis. Big Valley Animal Hospital, Dr. Portorti, told me my dog had a heart condition, which in turn cost me about $500.00 in medications, purchased from Big Valley. This went on for approximately 1 month. When my dog didn't get any better, that's when I went for a second opinion in State College. There they found the real diagnosis, lymph node cancer. By then it was too late for my dog. We tried prednisone for one week to put the cancer into remission, but it didn't work. We had to put our dog to sleep. The kicker here is when I called Big Valley Animal Hospital to tell them of the misdiagnosis, the owner's wife literately flipped out on me yelling and screaming, and just did not care or want to hear they made the wrong diagnosis. Proper testing WAS NOT DONE. No apology or sympathy from anyone at Big Valley was given to my family. Needless to say, I never again took any of my pets to a Local Veterinarian, least of all Big Valley. I now go to Metzger's Animal Hospital. Please be Aware & please seek a second opinion if your pet is sick.
