Heating service on a 100+ year old house that we rent out was not working. The first time it was a heat sensitive switch the second time it was a blown out pilot light. When the heat was out in our rental I had Viking Mechanical referred to me by a co-worker and friend. Called and although they were booked up they added the house on at the end of the day. This was right at the first cold snap of the winter and temperatures that weekend were slated to drop to the teens with high winds. So on a Friday they went and did the repairs and did not even charge extra for after hours or for an emergency.That Sunday the heat went out again. Based on the high winds Viking Mechanical recommended I check the pilot light before they made a call. The pilot light was out but I could not get it to stay lit. I called him back and he stopped by after his last call, started thepilot light and then called me to let me know that it had to be held down for a minute or more to heat up the fail safe switch before it would remain on. He did not even charge me for this call.I came away feeling like I had gotten old fashioned personal and thoughtful service at a good price the first time and a fantastic price, free, the second. At this point I can't see calling anyone but Viking for my heating and cooling needs. - Lori Pendleton, Rapid City
