Located in Rapid City, S.D., Heavy Constructors was established in 1983. In 1987, Heavy Constructors merged with Dave Gustafson and Co., a company that was established in the state of South Dakota in 1945. Heavy Constructors has two divisions under the names of Gustafson Builders and Excavating Specialists. Gustafson Builders is the division responsible for the commercial general contracting, and it has been responsible for the construction of various prominent structures in Rapid City and the surrounding areas. The division of Excavating Specialists is responsible for performing the underground and utilities functions within the organization. Heavy Constructors handles the streets, roads and bridges for the company.
