This state-of-the-art surgery center has six operating rooms, four overnight patient rooms, and eight pre-operation rooms. The building is equipped with a mechanical penthouse with a standing seam metal roof system and EIFS exterior. The main entry has a cantilevered structural overhang that highlights the main entrance. The interior finishes include drywall, wood trim, casework, tile floors, carpet, resilient flooring, and acoustical tile ceilings. Mechanical and electrical systems were also provided.

A beautifully designed structural steel framed building with metal stud framing, brick veneer, aluminum window and entries, and a standing seam metal roof. This single story construction facility was designed to comply with force protection requirements, anti-terrorism requirements, and blast load requirements due to its proximity to the flight line. Interior space consists of computer rooms, flight line kitchen, and office space, as well as secure conference and briefing rooms. An outstanding performance rating for Quality Control, Timely Performance, Effectiveness of Management, and Compliance with Safety Standards was received for this project.

Demolition
This is a Military Design-Build contract consisted of the replacement of Capehart Pumping Station at Ellsworth Air Force Base. Work consists of demolition of the existing wastewater pumping station and construction of the new wastewater pumping station. New electrical components in the existing pump station were used for the new pumping station as applicable. The new Capehart pumping station is capable of handling a peak flow of 430 gpm with a wet well usable volume of 1600 gallons. We provided the means to continue pump operations while the new facility was being built. An additional out pipe for future routing to Regional Waste Water Treatment plant was included.

Landscaping
This new Families Life Facility was an expansion project for Canyon Lake United Methodist Church. Construction consists of an 8,420 sf- two story building, not including the shell space on the second floor. The work includes all structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and site work, consisting of utilities, grading, paving, and landscaping.
Asphalt Paving
Western Mailers is a single story, steel framed building constructed with a structural concrete foundation system. This office space is complete with exterior Insulation and Finishing System (EIFS) with decorative brick stenciling and columns. Associated sitework for this project including concrete sidewalks, utility work, asphalt paving, and landscaping, were also completed by Dean Kurtz Construction.

Whether it be excavation, grading, paving, site concrete or underground utilities, our strong relationships with trusted subcontractors ensures professional and complete site development. We manage and coordinate site construction, either as part of total construction, or as a standalone project.

The new 28th Maintenance Group Headquarters Facility includes an administrative and maintenance operations facility for the 28th Maintenance Group Headquarters squadron. Building was designed to comply with force protection requirements, anti-terrorism requirements, and blast load requirements due to its proximity to the flight line. This facility features secure conference and briefing rooms; contractor furnished and installed fixtures, furniture and equipment, complex mechanical and electrical systems, and fire sprinkler systems. An above average performance rating was given for Quality Control, Timely Performance, Effectiveness of Management, and Compliance with Safety Standards on this project.

Window Installation/Replacement
The project consisted of construction of a new 33,000 sf fire fighting facility. The building has 20 single bedrooms, full size kitchen, dining room, an entertainment/Recreation area, 8 drive-through bays for fire equipment trucks, and mechanical room with storage area. Architectural elements include brick veneer, architectural precast concrete, aluminum windows and doors, custom architectural woodwork and casework, ceramic tile, carpet, VCT, pre-fabricated sauna, overhead doors and electric operators. Sitework included utilities, asphalt paving, heated concrete paving, landscaping and irrigation.
Siding
General plant site improvements, including water and sewer line extensions, retaining walls, regarding, road surfacing, minor reseeding and landscaping, demolition, etc. North Building includes: Reinforced concrete substructure, prestressed concrete slab system, wood framed and sided superstructure, metal roof system, small laboratory/office area, shop/maintenance area, HVAC (in floor heating, exhaust fans, air conditioning), Electrical power, instrumentation, and control equipment. One 20 foot diameter final clarifier with insulated fiberglass dome cover. Aeration basin complex, two-cell, diffused aeration and submersible mixing equipment. South Building includes: Reinforced concrete substructure and slab, loading dock, masonry superstructure with wood siding, metal roof system, two concrete storage tanks, HVAC, electrical power, instrumentation, and control equipment.

Residential Roof Repair
This project consists of the main Sanctuary Structure with Administrative and Classroom wings. Building construction included a structural precast floor supported by concrete piers, masonry and steel stud walls, structural steel roof framing, brick and EIFS exterior finishes, membrane roofing, mechanical and electrical systems complete, site grading w/landscaping and asphalt parking lot and building utilities. This new facility is located in southern Rapid City.
Residential Roof Replacement/Installation

Carpentry
With innovation and progression in mind, Dean Kurtz Construction set out to build an airport that would rival the likes of Sioux Falls and Rapid City. The project was centered around a brand new 20,000 sq. foot Passenger Terminal including ticket and rental counters as well as a baggage handling area. The project will include geothermal mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, granite veneer & wainscot, a radius standing seam metal roof, structural steel framing, cast-in-place concrete foundations, load bearing studs with masonry/granite veneer, and custom casework and finish carpentry. This new airport will allow for more flight options, travel conveniences, and additional jobs.
Insulation
Using our expertise in commercial construction, DKC was able to build a custom airport hangar for the Phillip Airport. This hanger allows pilots to safely store their aircraft for an extended period of time without the worry of mother nature affecting their flight plans due to outside exposure. Our craftsman used their knowledge of commercial building to apply the same building tactics to this project. Starting from concrete and roofing to steel insulation and finishing, our team was able to bring all facets of this build together on time and on budget for our client.
Masonry
The new Middle-High school structure is a one level masonry structure with a full EPDM roof system. The building features classrooms, art/science rooms, a library, mechanical, and separate administrative offices for each school. The renovation of the existing Elementary School was an additional 58,000 sf renovation that included minor floor plan modifications to accommodate the new HVAC system.
Electrical Work
This project included the addition of a new building as well as exterior renovations to existing buildings. The new building covers approximately 4,570 sf with the addition of an outdoor pool. Existing guest room exteriors and lobby building were renovated, including all associated electrical work.
