Dr. Casey Nelson was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. He attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for his undergraduate studies. He received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from UNLV School of Dental Medicine, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He was elected by his professors to be inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society. Dr. Nelson also received an award for Excellence in Research, after having presented research studies at the International Association of Dental Research meetings in New Orleans, Louisiana and Brisbane, Australia. Following dental school graduation, Dr. Nelson practiced general dentistry before returning to UNLV School of Dental Medicine to pursue his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. During his residency, he served as Chief Resident, and received another award for Excellence in Research. Dr. Nelson has been practicing Pediatric Dentistry in the Portland area since he became a specialist, and is now fulfilling his dream of opening his own Pediatric Dental practice. It is his mission to educate parents and children regarding proper oral health strategies to minimize the need for prolonged dental treatment at a young age. If treatment is indicated, Dr. Nelson is committed to making it a positive experience for the patient and parent, and this is reflected in his relaxed and positive demeanor. He loves working with kids and seeing the positive impact he can make, when a child who was previously anxious is actually excited to come to the office.
