Orchid Salon

My 5yr old daughter decided to cut her waist length hair solely to donate it to "Locks of Love". I chose Orchid as the place because I donated my hair there just weeks before... the stylist did a wonderful job. My daughter however, has very thick hair, and the stylist didn't feel comfortable cutting her hair to the length my daughter requested. She asked SEVERAL times for assistance from a senior stylist, and was told "she needed to learn some time". Well, the haircut was less than acceptable, so I called AMY SMITH the shop owner and told her how much I LOVED the stylist, but that I'd perfer it if SHE would look at my daughter's hair since she was SUPPOSED TO BE THE BEST, and her stylist didn't feel confident. She refused. She then proceeded to tell me that I WAS the reason her stylist lost her confidence; my watching the stylist while she cut my daughter's hair, "made her nervous". Eventhough this was NEVER mentioned during my daughter's appt by AMY SMITH or the stylist, I apologized, but insisted that the stylist was just not comfortable cutting my daughter's hair, as she stated it SEVERAL times, and was refused help. AMY SMITH then proceeded to ask the senior stylist about his convo with my daughter's stylist, by SHOUTING for him across her shop, while I was STILL on the phone. He confirmed what I told her, and she finally relented by saying, "Well, I guess I can see when I can get you in, or you can think about it, if you want". SERIOUSLY? And to top it ALL off, she didn't even post my daughter's before and after pics on the Orchid fb page, (which she asked for my permission to do BEFORE the cut) probably bc of the poor job done in HER salon. I have NEVER felt so disrespected and been so offended in my life. It takes a special kind of RUDE and CARELESS, to RUIN a perfectly beautiful and completely selfless gift from a 5YR OLD! Nicely done! AMY SMITH'S ORCHID SALON WILL NEVER COLLECT ANOTHER DIME FROM ME. LIME LITE SALON downtown gives FREE haircuts to those who donate to "Locks of Love", AND they were MORE THAN ACCOMODATING when asked to "clean up" another salon's "mess". I will GLADLY POST before and after pics tomorrow; they truly speak volumes.
