Got an older car. Most shops would not work on it. The owner was cordial and spent a whole day combing over the car and went through it meticulously. Went through every system point by point, fixed the main issue which was the alternator, belt and battery. Also told me exactly what needed to be done with regard to the engine. Long story short they did a great job and did what the dealership would not do, which was fix the thing. The dealer kept pushing me into a trade-in for a new car, told me the car was too old to fix, yada yada. They quoted me over 5k to fix the car, this repair shop did the job for less than half that. Its not perfect and needs other work but the car does what its supposed to do. People don't want to hear the bad news when their car breaks down and most people don't want to maintain their cars and I didn't either so I paid the price for neglecting it for so long. The older your car gets the more likely there will be a breakdown. The more you abuse it the more likely it will break down. Add both and the car really breaks down. Its on a regular schedule now and the other fixes are in the works. Not so sure I'd want to buy a new car now, the dealer was really pushy and that made me mad. Plus they charge $160 an hour to work on your car, Atlantic Motors charged by the book time wise but no where nears what the dealer charges. A+++ for honesty.

I moved to Pompano last year and wouldn't you know my engine light went on .. Then she was being finicky about starting. : / I'm very particular about who works on my baby (Porsche 911) but it need love ASAP. I didn't want to risk and driving to my other mechanic. I'd passed by Atlantic Motors in the neighborhood. I knew they specialized in imports and I always see nice cars at the shop. So, I called them up and Al squeaked me right in. What's more, the service was fantastic, priced great and Al got me zipping down then road again!! : )

I brought my truck in to fix an extended crank issue. It had trouble starting in the mornings. Long story short....after paying $1,888 dollars, the problem was not fixed. So I have a tuned up truck that runs great, once it finally starts, but the issue that I brought the truck in to get fixed was never fixed. His team of mechanics could not properly diagnose my problem and therefore could not fix it. So I'm out $1,888 and my truck still has problems starting in the morning. Hopefully I can find someone else that is able to fix my truck's issue. I hate paying for guess work. To summarize, $1,888 are gone from my bank account and my truck is still broke.

UPDATE:

I followed up with Al the owner. His shop could not fix my truck, so I asked him if we could come to an agreement that we both could live with, since it was apparent that neither of us was going to be happy with the outcome. I suggested he refund the labor charges and I only pay for the parts that he installed because none of these parts fixed the problem that I brought the truck in for in the first place. He became angry and started SCREAMING at me on the phone. I am sorry that it has come to this. I am very disappointed with my experience at Atlantic Motors. )-:
It was a tough week. While he was screaming he said to bring the truck in and he would have his mechanics put my old parts back on and refund my money. I do not want his shop touching my truck at this point, so this was not an acceptable option for me. He did not offer to refund any part of the labor for the unnecessary repairs that were performed on my truck. Again to summarize, $1,888 are gone from my bank account and my truck is still broke. I hope my experience helps your decision making when it comes to choosing a mechanic.

Very impressed with the service to my 2007 750li. The service was very fast. A lot faster than the dealership. Price was much lower than the dealership. They also dropped me off and picked me back up when the work was done. No hard selling me like the big names repair shops. Just honest and good service. They even checked my tires and found a nail in one of them.
