We just bought the second van for our preschool from this company. Quality vehicles in their inventory and solid family run business with the strong ethics you would expect. We found the van we wanted online - best price in the North East Texas area. Called up Gary and he got us fixed up and ready to go in a few hours. No hassle. Great follow up with our banker and title work. We recommend Lone Star Cars to others and will use them again!

They advertise vehicle in great interior and exterior condition, but when you arrive you find a beat up piece of junk. They pictures from far enough away that you cannot notice much. I drove 180 miles to see this vehicle and it turned out to be a massive waste of time and money.

Also don't believe all the 5-star ratings you see on these folks. They are employees of the dealership writing them. Notice all the 5-star ratings within the same time period? RIP OFF DEALER!

Absolute professionals!! I went back two different times to look at cars and both times it was a really good experience -- never felt pressured either of the sales guys. They both just answered my questions and were not pushy at all. THere was no let me ask my manager" when it came to the price negotiations. No games, no hassle.

And Ken the finance guy was really great. They worked out a decent APR and monthly payment for me. And my "new" car has been a dream!!!

I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat.

I have lived in North Texas for 4 years now and have bought three cars from Randy and his crew at LoneStar Cars....and it has been nothing but TOP NOTCH. Not only was buying cars from them easy, but I also take the car to them for servicing as well. Randy and Ken really do go out their way to make us happy and this is why we will continue to come back.

If your buying used cars from anyone else....you're missing out.

Great place with shopping for vehicles. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. Even though we moved several years ago, I continue to use LoneStar for our auto needs. They are great about working with me long distance.

Overall

Buy a used car from these people, they are honest, no pressure ad they finance. They encourage third party inspections, so you can get the vehicle checked out by anyone of your choice. Quality vehicles at a great price and without the hassle of the big dealership pressure. I was treated fairly and I am sure you will too, Old fashioned customer service.

I love these guys! They really seem like they want to help. They beat my pre approved financing and delivery took minutes. I have been accustomed to budgeting hours at a dealership to finish a car purchase and it was not the case here. We ended up just talking about random jargon. At the end, since I was local, they offered to extend any dealer rate for me on anything I needed for the car in the future. They have owned up to that promise and I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you Ken, Jacob, and Randy!

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! Just...

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! Just as RKMCCRAY had said, this dealership probably isn't somewhere that you want to get your car from. Just to let everybody know, these scam artists sale you a car above the average price value for the many underlying issues that are on these vehicles when they are sold to you. I bought a mustang from them, and after 2 months of driving it multiple problems arose.

First of all the pigtail going to the cooling motor looked as though it had been forced in so hard, that the clip broke, this caused the car to overheat when sitting idle. That is a minor replacement part, not as much of a big deal. The major problem that arose, was when the catalytic converters went out, it bogged down my car so much that I couldn't even get it over 20 mph. I had it diagnosed at a place, and they said that the catalytic converters and the muffler had gone out, and they needed to be replaced. After they were already looking at it, Lonestar cars told me to bring the car over there, and they could look at it for free, and then probably fix it cheaper than other places. Well, I had to pay for the towing over to their dealership, and they then continued to tell me what I already knew, that the catalytic converters and the muffler were out. They took it to the dealership, at which point the dealership replaced it because certain emissions parts are covered by law. Well, when they went to pick it up from the dealer, it wasn't running on the way back to their shop because the muffler was full of the stuff from the catalytic converters. After this all taking over a month for all of this to happen, they finally told me that replacing the muffler would cost another $100. I told them to not worry about it, and i would just go without a muffler for a little bit, as i could fix and replace it myself. When I went to pick the car up, their mechanics said that I owed $130 to them for a diagnostics and towing... If they had listened in the first place, I knew that the muffler was out, and the cats were bad. Needless to say, within 3 months of buying the car I'm going to have sank an extra $380 into the car.

Aside from those issues, there is cosmetic damage on the inside that one would overlook if they weren't really looking for every little detail (as you would wish you didn't have to, but there are people out there that want an extra buck if they can finagle it out of somebody.) When attempting to talk to the owner about assisting me with some of this, he utterly and completely refused. The last time i gave him a chance, he got very upset because he tried talking over me and I wouldn't let him, and said that if I didn't pay the mechanics, that he would call his lawyer on me.... I don't really think this place is a wise choice for anybody to purchase a car from. When they sell you a car, they haven't bothered looking at it at all to see if anything is wrong, and will not assist you at all if anything goes wrong. PLEASE BEWARE of this place if you are buying a car from here. If you do so happen to take your chances with this place, I would suggest having it looked at by an outside source before purchasing.

WARNING!! BUYERS BEWARE & PLEA...

WARNING!! BUYERS BEWARE & PLEASE READ!!! Do not purchase a car from Lone Star cars! After purchasing the vehicle I found various issues that arose as soon as I left the Lone Star parking lot. There were loud noises coming from the steering area when I was making turns and the stereo system was crackling and not entirely functioning. I immediately contacted Lone Star and brought the car there the following morning. I was assured by the sales rep that they would take a look at the car and fix the issues. When speaking with the mechanic and sales rep they intially tried to tell me that the sound from the steering area was normal and that it was typical with the car. Upon further conversation they looked at the car in more detail, stated they had found the issue and replaced a part. When it came to the stereo system, the mechanic and sales rep determined that it was a speaker and that they would order a part and have it shipped to my house at which time I could install the speaker. The mechanic then began to show me how to "install" the speaker, at which time I told him and the sales rep that I was not comfortable doing the installation myself and that I would be taking it somewhere to have it installed. The sales rep agreed and put in writing that they would fix the issues with the car. After returning home and having the speaker arrive, I took it to Best Buy to be installed. The representative at Best Buy told me that it was not the speaker that was the issue and that there were various things not working. After this I again called Lone Star cars and let them know the issue was not what they had diagnosed, but was other items that needed to be repaired or replaced. They assured me that they would order the parts and have them sent to my house. After a few weeks passed and my stereo system stopped working completely and the car continued to drive irregularly, I again followed up with Lone Star cars. Speaking with the owner, rather then the sales rep, he stated that they would not be replacing or fixing any of the items and that this was part of buying a used car. Upon further conversation with him, I made him aware that I had in writing stating that they would be fixing the issues. The owner seemed unaware of this and that the issues were brought to both the mechanic and sales rep's attention before I even left with the vehicle. After further discussion with the owner he apologized and seemed embarrassed that they still had not corrected the issues with the car. The owner and I agreed that they would not order the parts (since they had not even attempted to order them yet) and that I could take my car to the local BMW/Mini dealership and have it inspected and repaired there. I took my car to the BMW/Mini dealership where it was inspected and found to have over $5000 worth of damages to it. Without getting extremely detailed, the stereo system does not work at all, the steering system & suspension (that they SAID they had repaired) is shot and requires to be fixed, the tires are ruined because of the suspension damages, and much more. I had the BMW/Mini dealership fax the estimate to Lone Star cars and then I followed up with a call to the owner to discuss the repairs or the possibility of them repurchasing the car from me. The owner told me that he would send me a check in the mail for $1300.00 and that was all that they would be willing to cover. So first off, I would have to pay for over $5000 of car repairs out of pocket and wait to receive a check in the mail from the same people who were supposed to be sending me parts that never showed up. Secondly, they knowingly sold me a vehicle with various degrees of damages and then refused to stand behind their faulty product.

Best Experience Ever!

I am very impressed with my recent used auto purchase with Lone Star Cars! No pressure, just nice cars. The check engine light came on a few days after I purchased it and I panicked since I had bought a car way out of warranty! Randy and Ken said not to worry, bring it in and they would take care of it...and they did! They replaced the catalytic converter for us free of charge. This was a much different experience than I have had with previous used car dealers. I highly recommend Randy & Ken for your next used car purchase. They will treat you right!
