Sound Proof Windows & Siding

I hired Sound Proof Windows & Siding to replace two roofs and gutters on two of my homes. After completion, my Husband inspected both roofs; only to find a nightmare !!! The "little" house: They never took off the felt paper. The ice and water shield was installed incorrectly. They never removed the existing drip edge. They ran out of shingles, they brought more out that were the wrong color. There were nails protruding from the brand new shingles. Nails were exposed and piercing through the singles. There are approximately 15-20 shingles that were cut with a razor knife. The gutters that were installed were not pitched properly, therefore holding water.

The "big" house: The existing drip edge was not removed. Nails penetrating along the rake edge. Felt paper installed incorrectly. Improper headwall flashing installed. Step flashing not properly installed. Lead pipe flashing; installed 5" shouldv'e been 4". All of the metal vents were severly dented. Numerous nail heads exposed. Since the existing drip edge was not removed by the roofers, when the gutter guy went to install the gutters, he couldn't remove the screws. So....he took a grinder and removed them. Yes, a grinder, leaving 2-3" of drip edge, just gone. We then gave him the opportunity to fix the mistake. OMG !!! The repair was worse than the original install (if that's what you'd call it) He installed the drip edge upside down and backwards. My shingles are all protruding in an upward postition. He then wanted to get paid for the balance. ARE YOU KIDDING ME !!!! I've requested a refund from Tim Donnahue because I need 2 new roofs and gutters on both homes. If you are looking for a complete nightmare and want a completely crap job on you home and want to do things twice.....call Tim Donnahue of Sound Proof Windows and Siding. After all of this, I've come to realize he isn't a licensed roofer through IDFPR (Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulations). It is illegal in Illinois to install roofs without a license. He never gave me the "Know Your Rights" pamphlet. His contracts and estimates do not show his roofing license number (illegal in Illinois). You would simply be a fool to hire this company. I have MANY photos to back up my review.
