She just took my money and disappeared. The day of my appointment I had a very close family member pass away in an unexpected and horrific manner. In the midst of all the madness, I called her crying to explain why I wasn’t going to be able to make it to my appointment. Apparently, when you make an appointment she will charge you a cancellation fee if you can’t make it. The cancellation fee is 100% OF THE COST OF THE SERVICE! Her policy says a fee MAY be charged, which clearly indicates there is a certain level of flexibility. Evidently that is not the case as a death of a loved one is not enough of a reason to miss a hair appointment. I spoke to her and explained the situation as well as the fact that I'm a full-time student, live alone and work full time sometimes till 3-4AM to TRY to get by. I work very hard to make ends meet and struggle regularly to cover for my living and school expenses. She charged me the $235 dollars for not showing up, because my relative died literally an hour before my scheduled appointment. Her lack of understanding and the way she dealt with it was heartless and inhumane, and her lack of professionalism is bewildering to me. I texted her as soon as I saw the money come out because she wasn’t answering the phone and her reply was “I’m soo sorry for your loss but these are my policies xoxo”. I then asked if she could reimburse the money given the circumstances and she never answered again. I have tried to contact her again on several occasions and since she had already taken my money, she didn’t bother to reply. I understand the need for cancellation policies, but I also know that certain circumstances could call for some type of flexibility and understanding. I stayed in communication with her regardless of my circumstances and said I’d reschedule as soon as I got a chance. I don’t care how good she is with hair, when things get real you get to see the type of person that she really is. Ruthless… I feel robbed and taken advantage of.
