Demolition
The dense 1” – 2” round river rock surfacing required vacuuming to expose the underlying membrane. Vacuuming increased productivity and eliminated the labor intensive operations to manually remove the river rock to enable demolition of the existing roof. Set-up and staging was limited to one isolated area in the rear of the facility. This imposed trafficking long distances across the roofs. Phased deliveries, strategic set-ups, and well executed planning of the project proved to be essential to the overall success.

Residential Roof Repair
All maintenance and roof leak repairs adhere to specifications and guidelines prescribed by the manufacturer and The National Roofing Contractors Association. The longevity of a roof system depends upon repairs performed by knowledgeable service professionals that have been trained and versed to proper applications to address moisture intrusion issues. Manufactured Materials for the specific roof system should be used at all times, and no alternates should be accepted. Each manufacturer’s product has components that are designed for obtaining optimum bonding that will meet warranty duration periods. When information is not available and the roof system can not be identified, products that are compatible and accepted by NRCA can be used.
Residential Roof Replacement/Installation
Accordingly we prepared a detailed Roof Evaluation Report inclusive of a CADD Roof Overview Drawing and proposal for a new roof. The roof replacement was awarded as a result of a comprehensive outlined scope of work that would provide a fifteen year manufacturers warranty. New roof drains and drainage pipe were installed to eliminate the previous ponding water conditions. New Kynar steel gravel stop was installed around the perimeters of the roof and flashed to specifications for warranty compliance.

Insulation
All roofing systems unless specifically manufactured are susceptible to contamination. The typical contaminants are grease (animal fat content), refrigerant, and solvent based material. Membrane that has been subjected to prolonged exposure to contaminated material will gradually degrade until the membrane completely deteriorates. If the problem is identified in the early stages, membrane replacement will eliminate the problem. The cost to restore the damaged area can significantly increase if the contamination develops into a leak source. Once the membrane completely degrades the insulation and substrate can be affected, and all materials must be replaced to obtain a serviceable condition. Restorations must include bagging all materials that have come in contact with the contaminated material and removed from the roof for proper disposal. The roof must be cut out around the affected area and all material properly disposed of. The perimeters of the area must be cleaned thoroughly or primed whichever is specified. An overlay of membrane and reinforcement will eliminate projected problems. T&R Roofing Specialist promotes installation of a Grease Guard surround system to eliminate future exposure to contamination.
