Stretch marks are the result of the skin’s collagen and elastin framework breaking down under stress. Pregnancy, body building and weight loss or gain are the leading causes of stretch marks. They occur most frequently in areas of mechanical stress where natural body fat pads occur, such as the breasts, abdomen, thighs, groin or buttocks. When Surface Medical Spas Fotofacial skin treatment photo-sensitizing solution is applied to the skin and activated by the light, it is converted to Protoporphyrin IX within the skin cells and that is the active ingredient. Light activation is accomplished with an Intense Pulse Light (our Palomar IPL or SkinStation systems), a Blue Light, or both. The conversion to Protoporphyrin IX attacks the bacteria in the follicles thereby reducing the cause of acne lesions.
Chemical Peels

Skin Care

Allergies
The Vampire Facial uses your own body tissues and does not contain any animal or synthetic components. You cannot have an allergic reaction to yourself and there have been no reported true allergic reactions. Consequently, skin allergy testing is unnecessary prior to treatment. However, if you have a history of allergies please inform your physician. There have been no known serious side effects reported in actual usage. However, you may experience some less common reactions, such as mild irritation, edema, bruising, swelling, itching, discoloration, or tenderness in the treated area. These temporary conditions typically resolve themselves within one to two days. You could develop an infection but that would be very rare.
