Shuckums Oyster Pub & Grill

This place is absolutely horrible. I've never felt so discriminated against in my entire life. To begin, a group of my friends and I met some of our other friends here, and after about 10 minutes of us hanging out, they told the group behind us that they we're going to move them to another table in order to "get them away". And then after that, they refused to serve alcohol to everyone in our group because "someone in our group was being rude". It was all crap. And I just want to warn everyone of color to avoid this place.

All I can say is shuckums need to visit south carolina to see what oysters are all about.

This placed was recommended by a friends. Apparently they were there at a better time than me. The service was slow. Thought I would die of thirst before we got drinks. The food was only fair. The best thing about the whole expericence was after we had eaten and wandered over to the karoke area. Now that was fun!

My wife and I spent the week of New Years (2008-2009) in beautiful Panama City Beach, Florida...While there, we decided to hit a few of the local hot spots...Shuckums Oyster Pub being one of them. Needless to say, we had an aweful experience...from the minute we sat down. For one, it was close to 10-minutes before we were greeted by a server and asked what we would like to have to drink...The entire time my wife and I were both contemplating going else where. Finally, once we got our drinks I decided to put in an order for 3 dozen oysters, an appetizer, and a sandwich. It was forty minutes before we received our first dozen oysters, then another 15 minutes before we received our second dozen. We were told by our server the third dozen was on its way...obviously, someone else must have received that third dozen we ordered. It is now, January 4th and we still haven't received that 3rd dozen! :-)

Obviously, we cancelled the third dozen after waiting almost 15 minutes after we were told it was on its way to the table. To make matters worse, I had to ask for the check and another 10 minutes passed before we finally received the receipt for signature. Now, most readers would immediately assume the restaurant was busy and I am simply nothing more than a complainer...well, you couldn't be more wrong with that assumption. The restaurant wasn't all that busy (This is off season remember) and other customers were somewhat confused with the poor service as well. I can't imagine how this place functions during the regular season. As for the oysters, they were not cold and my wife was very disatisfied with how stale the crackers were. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant if you want to satisfy a craving for big, COLD raw oysters on the half shell. I hope the quality of service improves soon or else this restaurant will not stick around to receive a higher rating!

Baked oysters were decent except they were extremely small. Fried oyster and crab cakes were very disappointing.

The oysters tasted as though they had been fried in old oil they were almost rancid tasting and very soggy, not crispy like good oysters should be. Crab cakes were just run of the meal cakes mostly breading. Even the baked potato was sorry.
