General Info: Palos South Middle School serves students in grades six through eight and is administered by the Palos Community Consolidated School District 118. It offers various academic courses, including language arts, English, social studies, mathematics, science, Spanish, art, music and physical education. The school provides opportunities for students to participate in several ensembles and activities, including a symphonic band, jazz ensemble, fine arts festival, chess club, choir group, cheerleading and summer band camp. It has a music association of parents to provide support to the band program. The school also offers various athletic activities, including softball, basketball, volleyball and cross country. In addition, its media center has an online database that provides access to newspapers, magazines, encyclopedias, transcripts, journals, videos and books. It is located in Palos Park, Ill.
