        Beware billing problems!!

        This is a lovely facility with well-trained staff -- except for the billing department. My friend and I were (at different times) both over-charged, double-billed and billed for physical therapy sessions on days we were not even on the premises. Nor did they advise us of the insurance limits on physical therapy or when those limits were reached. Their regular fee for one hour of group pool therapy is a whopping $185 (per person)! Two sessions in one day when I didn't attend were billed at $300 each! In addition, Rancho Wellness did not advise us of the insurance limits on physical therapy or when those limits were reached. When I called this to their attention, the biller agreed I was right on all points and agreed to notify Medicare and my insurance company of the excessive charges (which had already been paid).... but didn't! Since I quit going, I have seen a nice article in the local paper in which the owner is stating pool therapy as costing $5 to $12. Sooo... except for that huge problem, I could recommend Rancho Wellness.

        Without knowing who the patient is and the specifics needed to research this complaint, I cannot comment on this particular situation. I certainly invite this patient to contact me personally for prompt attention to this matter @robin@ranchowellnesscenter.com In response to pool therapy costing $5.00 - $12.00, those prices apply to WATER FITNESS not pool therapy, which are two completely different programs. Pool Therapy is a treatment used in Physical Therapy with a Drs. prescription & usually billed to the patients insurance. The pool therapy sessions are limited in size and specific to the patients diagnosis & supervised by their treating Physical Therapist. Water Fitness and Aquatic Arthritis Fitness are available to the public without a prescription and these classes are taught by a water fitness instructor. There is no size limit to these classes. The cost for the Aquatic Arthritis Class is $5.00 and the cost for the Water Fitness is $12.00 per class. We are happy to offer a Sr. discount of 10% to those 55 and older for the water fitness classes.
