I have used Hughes Brown for many years in my business. Jay and his staff have always been very responsive. Unlike other firms, I always get timely responses to my emails and phone calls. I highly recommend this law firm.

I paid them to perform a title search and to close on my house. They had little knowledge about the way Homestead and property tax is processed in Pontotoc County. They did not allow the sellers to pay any tax because they insufficiently researched and found that the property was tax exempt for 2017. Land roll had yet to be taken, and when it was: Homestead fell off, taxes for 2017 were owed, included the 6 months that it was under prior ownership. I had to pay all of 2017 taxes to avoid penalties and legal action. They refused to offer any refund of their services upon inquiry. Hughes Brown has an office directly across from First Choice Bank in Pontotoc, and I highly recommend anyone looking to perform a title search and close on a house to look elsewhere for service. There are local attorneys that better understand how the tax system works, and are more willing to accept their mistakes than Hughes Brown PLLC.
