Mercy Medical Center

My father was in ICU and it was a terrible experience. He has dementia and we ask not to sedate him and they did 2x and tied him to his bed. We stayed 24/ 7 but took a lunch break while he was resting and thats when it happened. Its obvious they do not know how to handle dementia patients. He was misdiagnosed and all the doctors were horrible. They said it was heart but it was his esophagus total closed. He was in for 3 days suffering before they would listen to us and help him!! From the heart doctor to the regular doctor they were awful. The only one good was Mary McDonald. My mother went this week for outpatient procedure and another bad experience. We had a pager and the doctor left without even talking to us. No page from them. I understand doctors are busy but I took the day off work to be here with my mother! He could have at least talk to us!!!

I have been hospitalized 3 time here at Mercy. I have always been very happy with their customer service. The nurses were great and very nice. If you have to spend time in the hospital this is the place.
