April Kauffman, a Pennsylvania native, became a licensed aesthetician in 1997 at the Lancaster School of Cosmetology. She started her career in a prominent day spa before pursuing her dream of working in a medical environment. She spent 7 years with a plastic surgery practice where she created an aesthetic business “from scratch”, and performed all of the treatments. She was also a medical assistant in that practice. It was here that she developed a love for sunscreen, and an eye for spotting suspicious lesions. She then went on to spend 15 years in one of the first med spas in York, PA. Here she continued to deepen her knowledge of aesthetics and performed a variety of chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and laser treatments. She is also certified in dermaplaning.

The UV rays we are exposed to daily, purposefully and incidentally, cause a breakdown of the support structure in the skin leading to sagging, wrinkled and dry skin. Discoloration occurs, forming sun spots (also called age spots and liver spots) and a generalized uneven skin tone. Most importantly, sun exposure leads to skin cancer!

Chemical peels are performed here in the office by our aestheticians. They take approximately 30-45 minutes. We recommend a consultation prior to any chemical peel to discuss all the peeling options and anticipated downtime. When scheduling your consultation or chemical peel, please consider your work or social schedule, and plan your peel around any events that you may be attending. Very often we recommend having your peel a full 2 weeks before any social commitments. However, your particular concerns and needs will be discussed during your consultation.

It can be used to address problem areas on the face or body. Microdermabrsion is performed here in the office by our esthetician and takes approximately 45 minutes. Little to no downtime can be expected after a microdermabrasion treatment.

After her fellowship in Dermatopathology, Dr. Sachdev was practicing at Clin-Path Associates in Tempe, Arizona and at Kaiser Permanente in Orange County, California. Dr. Sachdev’s practices specialize in Clinical Dermatology and Dermatopathology for patients of all ages. Her areas of expertise include acne, warts, psoriasis, eczema, moles, skin cancer, infectious disease and other complex skin conditions. Dr. Sachdev also provides cosmetic services including Botox, laser and skin tag removal.
