Rio Pinar Health Care

I worked at Rio Pinar Healthcare for 18 years, i saw 5 management companies in that time, overall i loved my work, i was a CNA on the Dementia unit the whole time i was there. however care of the residents suffer when management companies come in and it is all about the bottom liine,staff is cut to a bare minium of what the state allows and cna nursing hours are added onto to make the numbers required by state with cna's in other depts that are not doing hands on care. We worked 'short" a taboo word in nursing many times and had never fewer then 12 residents . This is a group that involves, feeding, bathing, doing hs cares, watching so they do not hurt each other, dealing with families, and so on. I feel most of the staff cared esp the long time ones, but we did work short and understaffed many times. Yet were expected to do more. Many are just there for a pay check, many were not but were there cause they cared, i feel i was one of them.

My Mom was in this facility for 3 years and when she came in to Rio Pinar Health Care she was in bad shape was not able to walk, was super skinny, and with lots of Health problems, well guess what??? Mom is home with me and the family she is doing good at home and its able to the things she wants with her family. So please don't let anyone tell you any different from the care at Rio I can say that Thanks to Rio Pinar Staff and the care from the Nurses my mom is still alive and at home with her family. The staff here is amazing. They treat every patient like family and take such good care of my family member. Every aspect of the staff is amazing from nursing all the way to the front office. Especially excellent, is the new executive director. She takes care of every request my family member has and comes to see her every day to see if there is anything she can do. All I can say is WOW! I visited other facilities only to find them unkempt, unfriendly, and uncaring. Do not even think about taking your family anywhere else. Rio Pinar is A++! Thank you guys for all you do!!!!!

Do not send anyone you love here!!! My mother in law was here and had had a stroke.She got a bed sore and they didnt take care of it.She ended up in the hospital because it was so bad.It was so impacted with feces they had to do surgery to clean it out.The dr said you could see her spine.She died about 4 weeks later.They claimed they sent her to the hospital because of her heart.She had not heart problems.The dr even said sepsis set in and she couldnt fight it.Its beacause of them she died.
