Penske Truck Rental

The company I drive for rents commercial tractors fro penske on a regular basis. Recently they sent me to linden nj to pick up a unit for a new run we just got the contract for.



I did a "pre trip inspection" of the unit and noticed the windshield washer nozel was hanging from the wiper arm. I went in to the service desk and they sent me to the shop manager. This is where the fun starts. The woman in charge was extreamly unfriendly!!!! She DEMANDED that i submit a pre trip inspection form and wait for them to get to it. I informed her that I should not have to wait for something THEY should have noticed during thier inspection PRIOR to making the unit avalable for pick up. Also, the truck had not been cleaned, the floor was filthy, the windows were filmed on the inside with smoke and the curtains were laying on the floor.



I took the unit to our yard to clean it. It took me, the driver, over 2 hours to scrub down the truck and put curtains back up. also, I had to supply my own mattress from home because the one penske supplied, had springs poking thru the fabric.



If had been MY choice, I would rent from ryder or another company. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PENSKE TO ANY COMPANY FOR ANY REASON!!
