He brings life experience, compassion and skill to his client sessions along with the ability to "listen deeply" to the body / mind / spirit; thus, he creates a healing space for all he works with. His primary modality is Myofascial Release Therapy, but he is also trained in other techniques including CranioSacral therapy, Therapeutic Touch, Reiki and Swedish Massage. He has also studied and used active listening, role play and visualization in personal growth groups and professional seminars as well as in his work with children, youth, and college students. Craniosacral Treatment - A Body-Mind Tune-Up: Explains the CranioSacral system and common problem areas, as well as describing the treatment, possible responses and client self care after a treatment.
A licensed massage therapist since 2000, Douglas has in-depth training in Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Therapeutic Touch, Heart Centered Therapy, and Reiki. Previously a college English teacher and adult educator, he continues to love teaching fresh, new ideas. A graduate of the Universal College of Healing Arts in Omaha in 1999, he has taught classes in Myofascial Release and CranioSacral Therapy, Energy Work, business, ethics, and Reiki. He has conducted MFR Therapy Seminars as continuing education for massage therapists and other health professionals since 2001. Douglas is a Reiki Master Teacher and offers classes and attunements to Reiki as well.
Myofascial Therapy
Myofascial Release Therapy has been Douglas' treatment specialty since 1999 when he graduated from the Universal College of Healing Arts. Altogether, he has over two hundred hours in MFR training plus hundreds of hours of consultation. He now facilitates several different Myofascial Release Therapy Seminars in locations around the Midwest.
