My sister sent me a "Korean Lion" that my Dad had brought home from the war. Although she packed it well, someone at the post office must have been having a bad day. It came broken in many pieces, some just shards. When I brought it to Jannine, I though she was going to tell me it was hopeless, but on the contrary, she told me she loved the piece, and would be able to restore it. I was thrilled. It was a piece of my family's history, and I didn't want to loose it. Jannine is an amazing Renaissance woman. A trip to her studio shows all the various projects she is restoring from re-caning chairs to elaborate broken vases. She was delightful to work with, and beyond being an artist, I think Jannine is a little bit of a magician as well. The Korean Lion came back to me in better shape than before the accident.

J is funny, smart, and VERY particular about how she restores your furniture! I almost want to damage another chair so I can go back again (LOL). My chair wasn't fancy, wasn't old, but a gift from my aunt, and when the front legs fell off, I looked for someone who could save it. I can't believe the wonderful job done. I would recommend this artist in "a New York minute."

I have a lovely and detailed Italian ceramic swan vase that had been owned by my grandparents, then my parents, and was then passed down to me. It was recently broken by accident. I was devastated. Luckily, I found Restore and Adore. Jannine explained how she could repair the vase. She did exactly that! It looks as good as new, without any cracks or other areas that show the amazing repair work performed. I highly recommend Jannine and her company.

My mom passed away recently, a...

My mom passed away recently, and I inherited several pieces of furniture from her. Once piece that is very special to me is an oak framed mirror that as a child, hung in our upstairs hallway. She had always promised that I would get the mirror when she left this earth.

She held to her promise, and I recently hung it on my bedroom wall. Unfortunately, one of the brackets on the back decided to give way, and it came crashing down to the floor one Sunday morning a couple of months ago. When it happened, I was heartsick, as I thought the damage was irreversible. The outside frame and the mirror survived the fall, but the decorative wood that framed the inside of the mirror on the bottom was broken into several pieces.

I found out about Jannine from a thift store on Dixie Hhwy. I called her up and arranged to take the mirror to her to see what she could do. She was very professional and always called me back immediately whenever I left her a message. How refreshing!

She sized it up and told me she could fix it and that you wouldn't even be able to tell it had been damaged. I had my doubts at first, but she was so certain that it reassured me.

I was blown away when I picked the mirror up. Jannine did an absolutely amazing job. She was true to her word - you cannot tell that the mirror was ever damaged. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to use her again or recommend her to anyone who needs something restored. A true expert at what she does, and a very pleasant person to deal with.

My wife and I walked into a co...

My wife and I walked into a consignment store in Boca where she found a very elegant dining room set. The tabletop was totally wrecked. Underneath the finish coat, the beautiful Burl and Mahogany veneers had cracked, bubbled and lifted across the entire surface. This also caused the original finish to crack and flake, it did not appear to be repairable.

A woman at the store handed me a business card and told me that Jannine, of "Restore & Adore", could restore anything. I still did not believe that the top was salvageable nor repairable. I contacted Jannine, who was extremely kind, polite and accommodating. I described the problem and she said that she would be in the Boca area and would come look at the piece. She called and gave me a reasonable quote to restore the surface. I was still unsure of the repair coming out like it originally did from the factory and I did not want to lose the beautiful damaged veneers. So I held off on the purchase.

A few months had passed and the consignment store lowered the price of the distressed table substantially ($1000's) so we made the purchase and contacted Jannine to arrange restoration. I went to meet her at her workshop and gave her a 50% deposit to start the work. She told me that there was another buyer who had contacted her to discuss restoration on the same dining set. Apparently he had been quoted a price from another restoration shop which was 250% greater than her price. He was going to buy and have Jannine do the work but we beat him to it. While at the shop, Jannine showed me a 100+ year old Louis Vuitton steamer trunk which she was in the middle of restoring. Excellent work. I also viewed several other pieces and many pictures of the most beautiful pieces of furniture that she had worked on.

My project arrived at the shop and Jannine called to let me know that the surface was far worse under restoration lighting than the store lights. She expressed her concerns, gave me options and told me she would do her best to restore and save this awful top. Her contract stated that she would strip the table top back to the veneers, repair and prep the surface apply new stain and glazing to match the original surface color and approximately 3-4 coats of finish.

Although Jannine had a tedious and difficult restoration in saving the veneers, she completed it and it looks STUNNING! Jannine ended up applying 9 coats of finish using a gloss finish for the final coat. She did not like the way it shined, she called me and asked if she could apply a satin finish to remove the gloss. I agreed, the result a velvety antiqued appearance, absolutely perfect. While in her possession, Jannine identified other areas which needed touch up including the legs and apron of the table and the legs of 6 large chairs, she offered to repair them for a reasonable fee and I agreed.

With all of the extra work involved in saving the original table top veneers, I would understood if she had asked for more money, she did not !! She told me that what she had quoted was the still the same price I could be assured that it would not change. WOW. On delivery day, Jannine personally arrived with the movers to set up the table and insure that we were satisfied with her work. WE ARE.

Jannine is an amazing woman with a great personality, she always answered her phone, returned calls promptly, kept us informed of her progress and sent photos along the way. I HIGHLY recommend her services at Restore and Adore. Thanks.

This company did more than just carefully and lovingly restore my antique dining room table. It looked like a pile of broken wood pieces that used to be a table when it went in for repair and came back to me as a beautiful piece of furniture. This degree of craftmanship is a rare commodity. Then, add great service, and its a real winner.

My project was a complete refi...

My project was a complete refinish of 7 vintage dining chairs (5 side and 2 arm chairs), including stripping, staining and fixing the construction, new high-quality pads, and reupholstery (with fabric provided by me)

The company had been highly recommended to me by an antique dealer, so I called to get an estimate for restoring and reupholstering my rickety and shabby antique dining chairs. Their pedigree was good but they looked ready to be chucked! Jannine, the principal, returned the call promptly, scheduled a visit at my convenience, showed up on time. Her intelligence, quick humor, and an amazing knowledge of antique restoration procedures along with a fair and reasonable quote convinced us to give her the job. It was done on time and within the original quote. The chairs came out beautifully and we couldn't be more pleased. Thank You!

Page Of Happiness Nominee I listed this company on "Angies List" excellent service.

BEYOND BEAUTIFUL..... I had...

BEYOND BEAUTIFUL.....

I had a large OLD plaster framed mirror which was handed down to me from my grandmother, dating circa 1870's France. The plaster frame would break off in your hands when ever we tried to move it. I thought it was hopeless (as did my husband) but I just couldn't part with it without a fight. It survived two World Wars in France !!! It had to be saved !!

I presented my challenge to Jannine who looked at the mirror with the same love as I do, with a glimmer in her eye, she said "I love a good challenge !" Truer words were never spoken!! She was able to restore all the missing plaster pieces of which there were many and hand carved each piece to match the existing profile of the frame, coloring and gold accents where all restored to perfection..and all this was done under the time limit that was quoted, she also kept me updated along the way. "It is beyond beautiful".

Jannine is a true artist who would never affect the integrity of your piece in a way as to devalue it.

WHAT A FIND !! I highly recommend her with the utmost confidence.

Thanks again for your beautiful work! I'll be in contact after the summer with more work for this business>

GORGEOUS

When I decided to have my mothers 71 year old Lane Hope Chest restored I contacted several refinishers. Jannine came out to give me an estimate. I was really impressed with her knowledge and warming personality. She visioned what the chest would look like and gave me her input as what needed to be done. The chest was sitting in my garage for at least 23 years and was a catch all for anything that needed to be stored, as you can image it was in horrible condition. I even considered throwing it out on bulk pick up.

Jannine was great she updated me on the progress of the restoration. She does all the work herself and takes pride in her work.

When the chest was revealed our mouths dropped to the floor. You could not believe how GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS the chest was. I could not believe it was the same chest. Everytime my husband walks into the room he states how blown away and how beautiful it turned out.

I now want to find damaged furniture and call Jannine to refinish and use her magic.

Her knowledge and talents are just over whelming. Thanks, AWESOME JOB

A very pleased customer

I would recommend Restore and Adore to anyone who needs fine jobs to be done and to be enjoyed for years to come. My dining table surface was damanged by roof leak and they restored it to anew. I love the the finish they put on and the seemless touch with the edge. I also appreciate the integrity the company presented to me: their communication was clear, precise and on-time. I guarentee your satisfaction with Restore and Adore.

Thankyou so much....

Awesome job on my Dining set and cocktail cabinet, I can't believe how beautiful these pieces are. I will be using this company over and over again. My furniture came from my great grandmother and had many ugly marks and deep scratches, one of the cabinet doors was completely split in half, I was nervous about having the items restored because you hear so many horror stories of furniture being stripped. Well my furniture was restored back to its original beauty with all its original patina...I am thrilled. The service was attentive and done on time...this was a great experience, I highly recommend this company.
