General Info: The Northfield Fire-Rescue Department has been operational since 1939. The department is responsible for providing fire prevention and rescue services. It has a staff of trained and certified firefighters who offer emergency and nonemergency medical services. The Northfield Fire-Rescue Department conducts fire training classes for children and the general public. Its Pay-Per-Shift Program allows the department to provide 24-hour emergency support services. The department s public education division is responsible for station tours and school visits throughout the year. The Northfield Fire-Rescue Department also organizes fire protection, senior and residential safety inspection classes. The department additionally provides free blood pressure checks for citizens. It is located in Northfield, Ill.
