These people are monsters. This place seems like a great place until you actually see the animals and have to deal with employees. Over half of the dogs are so skinny their ribs and hip bones stick out. I have visited there for weeks and looked at the dogs that have been there for weeks and they are still so skinny and malnourished. When you decide you want to adopt, there are some employees who are extremely rude and due to their laziness and attitudes make it nearly impossible to do so. After I turned in my application they said "go away". I have a large house, large back yard, two dogs at home that are healthy and happy and also are spoiled with attention. As they all just sat around doing nothing they said "we're really busy, go away". I kid you not. I wouldn't doubt it if they threw my application away so they wouldn't have to do their jobs.
It's a shame that they have such a nice facility yet fail to properly take care of their animals.
They need to be reported immediately.

One star is too generous but there was not an option of no stars! I and hundreds like me who actually care about animals will NEVER recommend this place. Although we realize they don't take drop offs, but my daughter found a starving dog on July 25, 2012. I mean seriously starving and in bad shape. She bathed him, fed and watered him but is 18 and living in a no pet apt. She knew he would be put down if taken to the pound and hoped once the people at Second Chance saw him, they would feel compassion and take him in. Nope. She was flat out told to get out and get out now, that he might be sick. Really? They were worried about infecting their dogs with parvo. Well, aren't they vaccinated there!?!? Hate these people. Thankfully, after networking and the good people at Peace, Love & Paw-Prints we found the boy a home. heartworm & parvo negative, loaded with worms and 30 pounds under weight. He was WORTH SAVING and these people could not have cared less. These people have no compassion!
