Our new favorite place! The food is the best in the area. Now I know why. I thought the hostess looked familiar. It turns out it's the original chef from Bell's Mansion. He and his family renovated and opened the new County Seat. GREAT place.

What a find! Friends told us to give the County Seat a try. Driving by it looked rather run down but once inside we knew we should not have judged a book by it's cover. Friendly staff, good prices, but the food is what really stands out. We have been back a few times since our first visit in December and we always look forward to going back again.

Great place!!! Friendly staff. Prices are reasonable. We have dined there for over a year now and have yet to be disappointed. The food is consistent and when I order a steak or burger medium I know it's coming out medium instead of overdone like many places. I love the Pub Steak with Irish whiskey sauce. You will wait a little longer for the food when it's extra busy but it's DEFINITELY worth it. Parking across the street is also DEFINITELY worth it!

RNCNov 7, 2008 Significantly disappointingI recently treated a friend to a dinner at the newly re-opened County Seat in Newton, NJ. The prices were very high for the food quality. Our server was condescending and rude. The brie salad was excellent, but it was the only thing I can say that was positive about the experience. When ordering burgers, we asked to substitute onion rings for french fries, and were told it was not an option. (We would have been glad to pay more) The burgers were both overdone. I called County Seat and spoke to the ?acting manager? who said his name was ?Bob?. He repeatedly interrupted me and seemed totally disinterested in the complaints. I told him in today?s economy customer service should be of primary concern. He hung up on me! I called back to confirm that he had indeed hung up and he said ?yes? because he did not like what I had to say about the restaurant. Think twice before dining at the County Seat in Newton!!!!
