I received a telephone call from Dr. Rucker's Office Manager, promising that Dr. Rucker will consider whether or not, to inform my elderly father, that while he was under total life support, my younger brother, who has a medical proxy for my father, actively engaged in a course of conduct aimed at undermining my father's recovery, by giving the hospital staff the impression that my younger brother, Randy Carmel, wanted my father to die. Once my father recovered from total life support, and regained his cognitive abilities, Dr. Rucker had an ethical fiduciary responsibility to his patient, to inform my father that his chosen medical proxy holder, Randy Carrmel, sought to undermine my father's recovery. To the best of my knowledge Dr. Rucker has never informed my father, that his proxy holder Randy Carmel, was giving the hospital staff the impression that he wanted my father to die. My father has never informed me that Dr. Rucker has told him the truth, about the medical proxy holder's intent to undermine his recovery. AMA Rules of Ethics, clearly state that it is responsibility of a physician to be honest with his patient, especially about life threatening activities of the patient's medical proxy holder.
