RJ Bell Roofing

In the fall of 2009, I contracted Mr. Randy Bell to replace my roof three years after another roofer was supposed to have done the same. Needless to say at that point I was a bit leery of roofers in general. After obtaining price quotes from 4 separate roofers (all of which I had found online in the Yellow Pages), I chose RJ Bell because:



a) He was very concise in his explanation of the entire process of applying a new roof - taking it back to the older application methods (mine is an older house), to the methods of today.

b) He took his time and was very concise in his explanation of what he felt may have been done wrong by my original roofer which might have resulted in leakage so soon after completion of the work. I had a lot of questions all of which he good-naturedly answered without a hint of impatience.

c) He was timely, responsive, personable and polite - and so were his workers.

d) I called about 10 of his many references and they all had wonderful experiences with his work. All particularly spoke to his willingness to come back and respond to concerns or issues which may arise after the close of the job - which was important to me.

e) His prices were comparable to the four quotes I had received independently so I have reason to believe that his pricing is fair.

f) He has a lifetime of experience (he is a second generation roofing contractor)



I am not a roofer so all I can go on is the word of the various roofers I have spoken to with regards to the proper application of a new roof and price. As a layperson it is also difficult to know if a job is done right, until your roof starts to have problems, or not. That said, what I look for is a roofing contractor who is communicative, timely and responsive, respectful of the worksite and who feels honest/sincere. Good references never hurt either. Lastly and very importantly, since you never know what may happen with a roof, it is important for me to know that the roofer is willing to come back to troubleshoot without a fight nor seeking reason to allay blame. RJ Bell roofers fit my requirements and so I went with them. And I would recommend them to a friend.
