Overall

The job they did was beautiful. I do not mean for this to be a bash session, but I will tell the truth about everything that happened and how I felt as a customer. The owner is very busy, so it is a little uncomfortable to talk to him on the phone because you feel rushed. When he came to our house to give the free estimate, I was under the impression that he would be at my house while his workers were there. He wasn’t because several things went wrong, and his employees didn’t tell him about it. I had to call him and tell him. Every call was uncomfortable because there was some excuse about how they didn’t know or how maybe my home had this pre-existing condition. Here are a few things that happened:

The workers broke my baseboard while pulling up the carpeting. My husband asked the worker if it would be fixed or replaced. The worker said this had never happened before, so he would need to talk to the owner. The next day we call the owner to see how this would be resolved. He didn’t even know what happened. My husband told him, and the owner Marc, said it was probably already cracked, and it fully broke when the carpet was moved. They did replace the baseboard with a brand new one. However, I felt it could have been handled better by the employees and owner.

We were told to remove the toilets from the house. We did. The first day of work the employees put the master bathroom toilet in the guest bathroom, so they could use it. They didn’t connect the water. They were just filling a bucket up and dumping it into the toilet to flush it. When they pulled the toilet up to put it back in the garage, they broke the toilet flange. Once again, the boss was not made aware of this, so we had to tell him. He said they probably didn’t even know they did it. The boss said he bought us a new toilet flange “a metal one” which seemed like it was better. Really, what it was, was a repair kit that didn’t fit on our current flange properly that was left on the sink for us to fix our self. Now our toilet rocks back and forth, so we will be calling a plumber when money permits.

I was cleaning the floors and realized there is about a one inch piece of concrete in my bathroom that is completely unstained. I didn’t mention it to the owner because he got paid before the job was complete, so I didn’t notice it until they were gone. He did give me the option to pay when the work was done, but I just paid then(MY MISTAKE).

One of the workers was rude and complained to my husband about how he hated his job and wanted to find another job. He told his boss that he shouldn’t take on big jobs like our house, but the boss does it anyways. That was completely awkward for my husband. We also didn’t tell the boss this because when my husband tried to call him, he answered his phone to tell my husband he was busy at the airport with his daughter… If you are busy DON’T answer your phone and make me feel bad for calling you!

Finally, there is a nice big blob of concrete that the employees dumped right in the middle of my back yard that I didn’t notice until after I paid the guy and he ran off with my $5500 check. I have tried to move it but it is very heavy and stuck in my railroad ties. I didn’t even bother to call the boss back to tell him about this situation.

So, what I am saying is, the work they do is amazing BUT do not expect a lot from the employees.
