Mike's Remodeling and Handyman Svc.

HOMEOWNER BEWARE! 0 RATING IS WHAT THEY NEED. We contracted Mike Vanlaningham and his wife Shelley to remodel our house several months ago. As of today, in December, the work is not complete. We are finding that work we paid for through weekly draws is not complete and not up to the standards we were told it was going to be, we were mislead on project status, many projects were left incomplete, and specific materials we paid extra for were not used or even left on our property. The workmanship is poor. Also, we had to arrange for and pay for a dumpster to haul away all the trash and debris. Neither Vanlaningham will answer phone calls or text messages and they have blocked us from Facebook. We paid 1000s of dollars for work not done and/or not done as contracted. Mike still has tools & equipment at our house.

BEWARE! We paid Mike's Remodeling $7,000 to demo existing tile and place new tile in a hallway, laundry room, 2 bathrooms and 3 three bedrooms. This did not include materials such as tile. The tile is uneven and crooked. The trim work is sloppy and unprofessional. They damaged every door frame and trim they worked near. They damaged transition pieces to our hard wood floors, bathroom cabinet doors, french doors, walls and furniture that was stored in our garage during the remodel. MIKE and SHELLY VANLANINGHAM left our home in a state of disrepair and damage. They did not finish the job and what they did finish is botched. They left piles of trash in our garage and on our patio. They vented our dryer with duct tape. When we asked them to repair/replace the damaged items and redo the botched work they agreed, however, they never returned and will not answer or return calls. We are in the process of getting bids to repair what they have done to our home. Don't let this happen to you!

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Their work is unethical, botched, and incomplete. They decided, without my knowledge, to never show up again. They never finished what we had paid them thousands of dollars to do, but when pay day came, they were always sure to make an appearance. Their trash and used, broken tile has been sitting inside of my garage for 6 weeks. They ruined and broke furniture that they shouldn't have even been near. If I had known that they were going to work in my beautiful home with a blindfold over their head for 6 weeks, I would have never hired them. I would NOT recommend Mike's Remodeling to anyone.
