Matthews Contracting

I wrote the first scathing review in March 2014 that mirrors the same remarks that another person had for him but my comments have been deleted. To say that ANY of his work or integrity is laughable. I contacted the Alabama Plumbers and Gas Fitters Examining Board who cited him for not having a license when he stated that he did. The Better Business Bureau has a bad record on him. Home Depot can tell you all about him and nothing will be good. Home Dept can attest to all that this man has put customers through. Only a fool will employ him for anything. Further, take a look at the gofundme Jasper pages that he's set up to bilk people out of money. This man is a complete fraud and the Heather that posted good remarks is his wife for goodness sake! No Christian would perpetuate the acts on people that Wayne Matthews has!

Heather F. By your profile pic displayed below, I see Wayne of Mathews Contracting pictured behind you. So I doubt that your comment below is totally accurate. My original review, that you refer to us as being old and bitter is not accurate. If you or any prospective client will go to the Walker County Courthouse and look up the court records of April of 2012 they will find a judgement against Mr. Matthews (which by the way is enforceable for 10 years from that date). If and when he pays the judgement amount we will consider the matter closed. By the way, as "great Christian", isn't being a "good steward" as referenced in the Bible include settling all debts?

These guys are very good at their job. Always on time with no cursing or smoking. I was really shocked. They built an addition to my house and put hardwood floors throughout. They did such a good job I paid them to do both my sisters house. The owner is a great Christian and treated me and my concerns with great respect. Their estimate was even spot on and he went with me many times to home depot to show me ways I could save money. More than happy and would recommend to anyone. .... Whoever this other woman/man is reviewing before be obviously don't know him and are either a bitter old woman or one of his competitors that are intimidated by him.

Ironic that the review giving Matthews Contracting 5 stars is by "matthews5663" Hmmmm wonder if there is a connection there. Needless to say, his workmanship is so bad (even with a signed contract) that we had to sue him for the ammount of money we paid him up front for materials. We were able to get a judgement against him for the amount of materials and attorney's fees....however, now 2 years after the judgement, he has not paid a cent. Collecting off of someone is easier said than done when he puts nothing in his own name, nor even a bank account on which a lien can be placed. In case he tries to rebut this review, we still have a copy of the court documents signed by the judge. He tried counter suing us, but the judge found for our complaint and against his. We still have all of the photographs of the work he performed...or should I say performed poorly or not at all and are willing to share those with anyone interested. We had to tear down the monstrosity he threw together and had someone else WHO IS REPUTABLE build a new one.

Amazing quality and attention to detail. Great christian attitude and a desire to listen to me and my wants and needs.
