Koppy's Propane Inc.

They charged me for propane which they did not deliver and would have been unable to put into my tank. They are crooks. My complaint to the president of the company was never answered. I think they take advantage of seniors when they can.

Koppys never informed me of any policies that they have in place. I was an Aarons Best Oil & Propane Customer, Aarons sold their business to Koppys in which I was informed that my service would not change. I moved to a new residence and needed my tank relocated 3 miles away. To my surprise over 1 month later I received a bill for $201.00 for parts and labor. I did all the plumbing and gas lines myself, I do this for a living at my job. All Koppys provided to me was the loading, unloading and pressure testing after the hookup was complete all of which took approx. 45 minutes to complete. When I questioned the $201.00 bill I was told that they charge $45.00 / hour for service calls. $201.00 for 45 minutes work doesn't add up to $45.00 per hour for service parts and labor. A few months later, note: we haven't been in our home for 4 months at this point. I get a bill for almost $400.00 for a propane delivery I did not order. When I called to question why I got a delivery right before the start of summer, note I only use my propane in the winter for a fireplace, they informed me that I was on a will call basis, that means I WILL CALL WHEN I NEED A GAS DELIVERY, thay told me that they automatically come out and fill my tank once every year to insure that I don't have to pay a $10.00 / month tank rental fee. We haven't even been in our new home for 4 months at this point. They came and took their tank, their cinder blocks and their gas that they delivered, refunded me the amount for the gas and are now taking me to court over the $201.00 service bill that I refuse to pay. If you happen to drive by this establishment im williamstown PA you will see over 25 fairly new propane trucks, hundreds of gas tanks and a nice office building. If I had to guess, this is a multi million dollar company picking on a consumer over $201.00. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH KOPPYS. YOU WILL BE SORRY YOU DID. As far as the automatic delivery is concerned I have head from a friend of mine that they delivered a full tank of propane to his cabin, sent him a bill for over $400.00 and the cabin hasn't been lived in in over 5 years !!!! More people need to speak up about this company, I wonder where they make thier millions!?!? Legitimately or by sneaking in the back door when your not looking!! Just to give you some idea of how big and profitable this company really is, EVERY PROPANE TANK AND PROPANE GAS THAT KNOBELS GROVES USES AT ITS AMUSEMENT PARK IS FROM KOPPY'S. To them a couple hundred dollars is like a couple dollars to us.
