Overall
Wonderful Italian Food!

My wife and I have been eating at Trupiano's restaurants for six years. Dominic, the father, runs the harbor one, and each of his two sons run the others. The Harbor one is the best! Mom's spaghetti sauce is a tasty family recipe, and the meals are always ITALIAN!!! -- I put that in caps because my wife is Italian and prides herself on being able to tell if an Italian restaurant is good by the way it smells when you walk in the front door. Since this one is right at harbor side, the fresh air may dilute the odor of garlic and tomato if you eat at one of the outside tables, but walk in the door and be prepared for a treat.

My wife says she must eat pasta at least once a week or languish perilously close to death. Her grandmother used to make pasta from scratch (I never quite understood that phrasing...we are Jewish and my mom could boil water and drop in the spaghetti with the best of them!) but she grew up with pasta and sauce and says that Dominic's is almost like from her childhood.

The arrabiata is not too spicy and I could just sit there and dunk bread into it all night. However, that would not be the most nutritious thing to do. My wife loves all of the things on their menu and vowed six years ago that she would eat her way down the left side of the menu one item at a time each time we went there till she reached the bottom of the right side. Alas, she found some favorites and started repeating herself and we are a few years behind in our quest for the bottom of the right side of the menu.

I'm a Vegan. I don't eat animal - no dairy, meat, fish, cheese, eggs, etc. Yet, I am delighted to eat at Dominic's as their eggplant sandwich (w/o the parmigiana on a roll with lots and lots and lots of tomato sauce satisfies me no end!

This is a family business. Say "hello" to Dominic when you're there.

General Info
Situated on the water in the Oceanside Harbor, Dominic's is an ideal place to enjoy the sun, the boats, and a menu of Italian food. While Dominic's specialty is their hand tossed pizza, their entrees are very popular, ranging from New Zealand mussels sauteed with marinara sauce and tortellini al pesto to veal parmigiana and penne rustico. Dominic's pizza includes a selection of gourmet offerings such as roasted garlic chicken, Margarita , and Dominic's Special Pizza, as well as the create-your-own variety. Dominic's is open seven days a week from 11am. The beautiful harbor scenery is a charming addition to the food and drink, and people watching is always a great diversion.
