Caulking is an excellent sealant for doors, windows, kitchen and bath joints, tiles, and openings of many kinds. Because caulking has a major job to do protecting against damage, it can break down and need to be replaced over time. Don’t take it for granted! We can easily reapply caulking or put on a fresh lot to create the strongest line of protection possible.

Expansion joint systems play an important role in the security and consistency of the buildings they’re a part of by fighting against potential cracks and other similar damages. Gaps left open can affect any number of aspects including water, fire, and sound proofing and air barriers. For instance, cracks which form and aren’t repaired can allow for poor and unintended water drainage. Expansion joint systems can offer protection for numerous applications including facades, pavements, build exteriors and flooring.
Door Installation/Replacement
Water-based foam sealant – Water-based foam sealant is typically the appropriate caulking for windows and door frames in new construction as well as the small cracks a property may have. It does not shrink and expands a bit, by about 25%. It has very strong adhesive capabilities but does need about 24 hours to cure effectively.

Demolition
The newest owners of this property are R.V. Kuhns & Associates and they commissioned this masonry renovation and building restoration. This hasn’t been the first time that the building has been worked on extensively. In 1955 the southern part of the building, that remains today, had an elevator installed into it and was rehabbed. This included the demolition of the northern portion of the building and that space converted into a parking lot.

Excavation
Whether you have a small-town commercial site or a 400,000-square-foot arena, we do it all! For U of O’s Matthew Knight Arena, we installed over 300,000 square feet of waterproofing, including bentonite, blue skin, caulking, and hot waterproofing. We worked with an effective but complex “blind side” method after excavation to ensure that the structure would be truly protected. Our team also installed air/water barriers that allow for greater energy efficiency while preventing mold. We were proud to assist the University of Oregon with several other buildings as well including the historic Fenton Hall and the new PK Park.

Window Installation/Replacement
Caulking is very important to help make sure potential water entrances into your site are cleanly sealed off. There are numerous different types of caulking that fit different needs, including: construction and residential grade silicone, polyurethane/expandable spray foam, water-based foam sealants, butyl rubber, latex, and oil or resin. Each type works with specific properties. Some work well for both exterior and interior large cracks, while others are best used for locations such as windows and door frames.
