Prior to joining Price Benowitz, Karin Riley Porter served nine years as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Virginia, handling cases ranging from DUIs to serious violent felonies. She has handled thousands of cases during her career. Ms. Porter's extensive experience as a prosecutor provides her with knowledge and training that set her apart from other criminal defense attorneys. Ms. Porter understands how law enforcement officers investigate crimes and how prosecutors build and prepare their cases for trial. This perspective allows her to build a strong defense strategy for each of her clients. Ms. Porter is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and has been named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Association of Trial Lawyers. She is a member of the National College For DUI Defense and has been elected Chair of the Economic Opportunities Commission of Alexandria. Ms. Porter is a graduate of Penn State University and earned her law degree, with honors, from George Mason University School of Law. After finishing law school, Ms. Porter had the honor of working for a Fairfax County Circuit Court judge as a law clerk.
