Colas Landscape Inc

I would give 0 if that were an option. I went to the Nursery where Colas Landscapes hangs out on Saturdays to get work. They are not really a part of the nursery but a separate company that will install what you buy, the nursery allows them to be there though, which they may want to rethink. Other than learning another contractor is lazy it's not a big deal , I will spend my money at another nursery.



Since contracting Ivan , who owns, Colas Landscape they have made mistakes and excuses to not do the work, and then eventually canceled the job. He gave my wrong address to the city for marking the underground cables which delayed us 3 days. He keep saying if I wanted to cancel he would understand. I didn't cancel because everyone makes mistakes so no a huge deal and it sounded like my order was in at the nursery. He also said all 120 shrubs have come in and are at the nursery and that they will keep them watered until the cables get marked - found out later there was no special order, there were no shrubs on hold and a regular shipment didn't come in till Friday - the same day he cancelled - so he lied about the shrubs.

Cables get marked and Ivan set up the install for a Friday. Friday comes along and Ivan and his worker show up to say they weren't going to start the work till Sunday or Monday now - I wasn't home so they told this to my wife. They said the reason they weren't going to work was because it may rain , they don't want to get sick with the rain (that still cracks me up) and it will get dirty -- ah yea they are digging up dirt I expect it will get dirty! When I got home I called them as I am now a little annoyed, I wasn't rude at all but again he kept saying to me that if I wanted to cancel he would understand -- almost like he didn't want to work. He said they could do it next week and I told him I needed to think about it and I would call him back in a little bit, his excuses are making me doubt using him now as I know they are BS. But the reason I needed to think about it is because the week he now wanted to install was Thanksgiving and I have family coming in and we are hosting a big dinner and I wasn't sure if I wanted to deal with the work going on in the yard at the same time. I also didn't trust them to not make excuses again or perhaps he would see another rain cloud and fear catching a cold. Then he calls me 10 minutes later and cancels the job on me. That was fine with me since at this point he seemed very unreliable and unprofessional and really his call just solidified my opinion that he was.



On the way to work I stopped by the nursery to let them know what happened and so they know what type of workers are representing their business. I also found out that Ivan didn't order any special shrubs at that there were not 120 shrubs sitting at the nursery for me. In fact they just got a shipment in that day and that was probably what he would pull from. No one even seemed to know about the order. So he lied.



Also there was a lot of activity at the nursery as multiple landscape companies, and trucks were loading up trees, shrubs, sod to go out on jobs, unlike Ivan from Colas Landscape who was too afraid of the possibility of rain and making him sick that he couldn't work. Well it is now 6 hours later and we haven't had any rain over here. He could have at least in good faith started the work, by now he could have been finished with half the job.



I truly believe he was just full of BS and either had another job, didn't get all the shrubs or couldn't schedule delivery.
