PLEASE BEWARE OF BENNETT'S PLUMBING!!! DECEPTIVE AND MALICIOUS BUSINESS PRACTICES AND OUTRIGHT THEFT. I WISH I HAD SEEN THEIR YELP REVIEWS BEFORE CALLING THEM, AND THIS ENTIRE SITUATION WOULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED.

Earlier this year one of our out-of-country clients' homes unfortunately ended up with a slab leak. After it was ALREADY IDENTIFIED where the slab leak was originating from, we called multiple plumbers to come out to give a free estimate to repair this slab leak so the owner could select which plumber to use.

Two plumbers came out from Bennett's Plumbing and I explained to them that we had already identified the origin of the leak and that we needed a free estimate only so that we could present estimate to the owner to authorize work. They went about and tested and confirmed the source of the leak by turning on/off the water in combinations of hot, cold, etc. They then continued to bring out what appeared to be a sound based machine to further test for source of leak (again, which we had already located before they even came out).

They then made a phone call, which we am assuming was to their office, and told us that the estimate was for $1400.00-1900.00 for the repair of slab leak only. We told them and requested that we need this in writing, and in an exact amount, so that we could send it to the owner. They said this was not possible and left saying to call them back to schedule service. Nothing was given to us as far as a written estimate and nothing was signed, and they left.

Long story short, we ended up using another company to complete the repair for similar pricing. Had Bennett's Plumbing provided a written estimate for the repair, then they would have most likely gotten authorization to do the work as they were the first company out.

Several months later I find out they are trying to charge $355.00 for this "leak detection" and service call. I immediately contacted them back via email (so that there was a "paper trail") that we do not agree with this charge as they NEVER stated when scheduling the estimate or when their plumbers were out that there was any fee involved. They never replied to this email and another several months go by and I find out they initiated a small claims lawsuit against myself (again, please note that I am not the home owner, just the person that scheduled an estimate).

If this is their NORMAL business practice, in effect, they are FORCING people that get estimates to use their service, no matter what price, otherwise they will charge you for an overpriced estimate service call (where plenty of other plumbers would come out to give you an estimate to compete and earn your business).

AGAIN, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM USING BENNETT'S PLUMBING. HOPEFULLY OUR EXPERIENCE SHOWS THAT THEY ARE QUITE DECEITFUL AND PRACTICALLY PENALIZING THOSE THAT DO NOT END UP USING THEM.
