Tony Vallee designed the renovations, which included adding a heated pool, outdoor kitchen, and fireplace in the courtyard; retiling the courtyard with stone; removing a wall to create a single expansive great room, and refinishing the hardwood floors. We are pleased to present the results, so beautifully captured by photographer

This jewel box of a carriage house was designed by Gary Justiss and Alys Stephens for a family in Seagrove, owners of one of the original beachfront bungalows. The property has been their family vacation home since the early 50s and we added this carriage house to accommodate their family’s growth. Fitting in with the original design of the main house and hiding out amongst the landscaping, you can barely see it from the street, but the white oak floating stair, plentiful wooden wall-board, and warm tones, make this hideaway an oasis in the crowded summer scene.
Rising from its concrete superstructure, the King House offers expansive views of the Gulf of Mexico and the adjacent park from its 100′ by 100′ lot in Grayton Beach. The 3200 square foot house serves as a beach getaway for the clients and as a rental property. Multiple porches and decks provide spaces to entertain and relax while overlooking the dunes and the Gulf. The ground floor play space for the children allows them to have direct access from the beach and space for table tennis and other games. The exterior wood stair leads to a Gulfside porch and a great room with living, dining, and kitchen spaces.
