John Pierce and his staff are outstanding. The physical manipulation and manual stretching he and Allison performed on me for total knee replacement have ensured that I will be back playing tennis in record time. Progress with John and all his other therapists is the best there is in Naples.

He holds 21 years of clinical experience in orthopedics and 3 years neurology experience working with brain injury and coma recovery. John has co-authored and been published in the American Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. John has been a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) for since 2009 and completed the process and examination being re-Certified this past March 2018, awarding him certification through 2029. He is a triple certified manual physical therapist, being Manual Therapy Certified (MTC) through the University of St Augustines post-professional advanced certification program 2004, Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) through the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Approach, 2016, and a Certified Mulligan Practitioner (CMP) through the Mulligan Concept 2017. John is a graduate of New Paltz College with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Accounting 1986, Stony Brook University with a Bachelor of Physical Therapy, Summa Cum Laude 1997, and the University of St Augustine for Health Sciences with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy with highest honors 4.0, 2008. John is the only credentialed COMT and CMP in South Florida. John is IASTM Certified (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) through Rock Tape. CMP - Certified Mulligan Practitioner. The Mulligan Concept developed by Brian Mulligan is a unique manual therapy treatment approach. This technique entails application of skilled sustained accessory joint glides of spinal and extremity joints provide by a trained therapist while having the patient perform concurrent active pain free physiologic movements. This technique coined the unique acronym of MWM's manipulation with movement. Many of these techniques have variations and adaptations that eventually can be taught to patients with unique self MWM's and taping for adjunctive home participation. Certification requires 3 individual unique treatment based courses followed by a comprehensive written, practical and oral examination.
