        keep your cash/go elsewhere

        we have been staying at this resort for almost 20 years. generally the accomodations have been decent. some of the rooms have been recently upgraded. unfortunately, the one we were assigned had burn marks on the sofa, the carpet at the glass doors was coming apart, and the finish was coming off the end tables and the coffee table. plus the bed felt like a rock. but beware, if you pay any part of your reservation with cash, the resort will require you to put down and addtional $100 as a deposit. at least 10 guests we observed were upset at the new policy. many had to sacrafice plans or excursions due to the additional charge. plus the management and desk staff were surly and sarastic to the guests that complained. we will never patronize this hotel again and plan to advise as many other potenial guests via websites about our problems.
