The frequency of pelvic floor disorders increases with age with 40% of women from 60-79 years old and 50% of women 80 and older. These disorders occur when the muscles and soft tissue in the pelvic cavity weaken or are injured. Despite the surge in pads and different products for leakage, urinary incontinence and pelvic pain are not normal conditions that one has to live with.
