This guy who wrote the bad review is CRAZY!!!!!!!! I have talked with several people and everyone I talk to absolutely love it! I go at least 1 time a week and get something different most of the time and I havent had a bad thing on the menu yet! Maybe a little pricey but I will pay it all day long for the sandwich called the"Q"! I have had the pizza and i buy the biggest chicken salad to go so I can make my own sandwiches at home. Dont listen to this guy and go check it out! Thanks Newks for coming to the boro!!

My wife and I along with our 2 year old yesterday went to Newk's for the first and sadly, the last time. Not sure what to say, the soft drinks were good, the brownie was okay, but that's about it. The decor is modern eclectic and while I enjoyed that aspect of the restaurant, I could imagine the place packed and not being able to get out or make it to the soda fountain for a refill. The young man who brought our food out was polite but after experiencing the food, I wished he had kept it in the kitchen.



My wife had a chicken salad sandwich and I had a single serving pizza they call the Margherita. My wife commented that the chicken salad was ok...but just that...it was okay. My pizza was tasteless like a piece of crunchy cardboard and I advised my wife I would rather eat a cheap frozen Tony's pizza from Wal-Mart anyday for $2.50.



The problem was that I paid $22.00 for this gourmet atrocity. They didn't have much of a selection of sides to go with my wife and sons orders so they got chips. Yes that's right, a small bag of Lays chips...emmmmm! Again, $22.00!!! My wife's sandwich was tiny, my pizza pan was 10" but the pizza itself was certainly less than the size of the pan and like I said...cardboard!!! My son got a toasted cheese sandwich. His had to be taken back and switched out for a kids pizza because it looked like 1/2 of a 6" hoagie roll with cheese on it and it was hard for a two year old. Well, then when they brought the pizza out, we couldn't believe our eyes that they had taken two 6" hoagie rolls, cut them in half and then half down the middle, spread a little tasteless pizza sauce on them, covered them in mottzarella cheese and served them to him. Needless to say, we will not be returning for a second go.



I could see this restaurant nestled comfortably between a few high rise office buildings where the health conscious, pompus, uptight yuppie crowd try to squeeze in 20 minutes to eat for lunch, but here in Murfreesboro, TN on the Avenue!!! Made no sense to me at all when you can go across the parking lot and eat a real meal at Mimi's!
