I have eaten at this restaurant for almost 30 years. It is owned and operate by a local Asian family (Jack and Bupha Butcheron) and is a favorite among locals in the know. I eat at other Asian restaurants including Thai, Chinese, Japanese frequently but enjoy coming here most for its ambiance and family-friendly environment as well as great food.
The pace can be slow at times but I usually find that relaxing. I have eaten here hundreds of times and rarely been disappointed.
Bupha the owner is also the main chef. The kitchen is immaculate. The interior is beautiful Asian wood with tasteful accents.
Bangkok has a considerable dedicated local following. I would encourage newcomers to try it.
I am really surprised that some reviewers were disappointed. If you are disappointed in anything, let them know and they will make sure you are satisfied.
As to prices, they have very reasonable lunch specials and their dinner prices are in keeping with other local restaurants.
The restaurant is usually very quiet and relaxing. It is rarely crowded and usually we are seated immediately. However, occasionally the service may be a little slow if a number of people arrive at once. Since each meal is prepared individually if a lot of people show up at once it slows everything down.
You will find couples on dates, families like ours with kids as well as lone diners.
Bupha can and will prepare anything to your preference, so just let them know what you like.

Sushi was very good but the entrees were rather bland considering it's Thai. I did spice mine up enough but took alot of chili paste. Atmosphere is very nice except for screaming uncontrolled kids running around. Their parents need to be beaten. Service was good except for the kids. Soup was good.

My husband and I just moved from south carolina to murfreesboro and we love thai food. We read the reviews on Bangkok and decided to give it a try. Oh we were disappointed. My husband is Viet and he loves Pho' so he thought that he would try theirs. Every time that he ever ordered Pho' from anywhere they give you vegetables to go with the soup...bean sprouts, cilantro, mint, ext. all he got was the soup noodles and 2 meatballs. And when asked to have atleast beansprouts they brought out like maybe 10 stings!! I orderd the chicken stir fry and my chicken tasted like rubber and the veggetables were so hard I didnt eat any of my food. The beer is outrageously expensive 6 dollars! expecially for a bottle neck I could see if it was a draft beer or something. Our bill was 50 dollars on top of that!!! We will never return!!! THAI LOVERS BEWARE!!!!!!!
