This building, in which Le Sorelle Porch and Pantry is located, has a long history in the Mt Gretna community. In 1912, the Womens Auxiliary purchased supplies for approximately $1200.00 to build The Lodge for their use. This building eventually housed the caretaker of the Chautauqua area until 1977, and then became a rented residence and a local business office for a short time. In the late 1980s, the Art Association, a collaboration of local artists, began to use the cottage for an Art Gallery. Beautiful artwork continues to be displayed on the walls of Le Sorelle. The restaurant has had three owners including the current owners, the Shertzer Family. When the eatery began only the kitchen and the back porch were used to serve the patrons utilizing just a few tables, home appliances, and one cook. Expanding into the entire first floor provided the opportunity to offer a full breakfast and lunch menu. Thanks to your support we continue to grow with our constant goal to improve while embracing the Mt. Gretna charm.
