Dr. Nirali Patel, MD

Don't go to this doctor. I set up an appointment 2 months ago. I received a letter with my scheduled date and time from her office. I arrived for my appointment to be told that I did not have an appointment with her. They took the paper they sent me with the date and time in to Dr. Patel and she told them to tell me that she was busy and would not be seeing me. She told them that I would just have to reschedule to a better date for her. Even though she was told by her staff that it was their mistake and that I was having some problems that had required me to stop taking my medication and needed to be seen. I am in the dental field and never would my doctor refuse to see a patient that was given an appointment time written on my letterhead and sent to the patient two months earlier. Dr. Patel did not even come out to see me she just told her staff two times that I would either need to reschedule and wait until she had another opening or I would just have to see another provider at a time that would be convienent to them. I immediately went down stairs and met with a patient advocate who could not believe the doctor refused to see me due to a mistake that her staff had made. The advocate took the appointment info to her manager who instructed her to send this up to the main manager of Sutter Gould because the doctor shoud have seen me. If Dr. Patel would do this to a new patient I can only imagine how she treats the patients that she already sees. Do not go to this doctor if the quality of patient care that you are looking for is a doctor that really cares about their patient. I will be looking for a quality doctor not one who is only there to collect a pay check and leave on time even though she knew the mistake was that of her staff. Ultamitely the problem here was Dr. Patel who if she were a high quality doctor would have worked me in and been apologetic for the issue not think of herself first!!!
