The Hair Palace Salon

I called the Hair Palace Salon to discuss my concerns regarding transitioning to natural hair. Melanie was very responsive and helpful. I scheduled my appt with her and it was a great experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was professional and the stylist were friendly. I loved my hair style and the hair care tips that Melanie gave. I've scheduled my second visit with Melanie! Great salon and stylist!

I was excited to have my hair done in this salon because of Barry Fletcher's reputation and the stylist Connie Fisher's review per AshleyGaga's website (She's a model). I trusted the reviews because Ashley had step by step pictures of the weave done by Connie on her website and it was nice. I wanted to look nice for my nieces graduation and the Capital Jazz Festival. When I called to set an appointment with Connie, it took her almost 40 hours to return my call. This was a sign of things to come. Connie Fisher's weave was a DISASTER. My hair is thinning along the sides and front of my head and Connie Fisher was clueless regarding doing weaves on people with thinning sides. When I complained to her, she told me she needed me to go buy more hair so she could fix it. That would be 3 bags in total! When I returned, she passed me off to another stylist without any explanation and took another client instead. That's just rude, but in hind sight I was much better off because KIANA BAKER is a WEAVE MASTER. She took one look at Connie's work and my face and knew that I was unhappy. Instead of the full hairweave that I requested, Connie not only left my own hair out on the top of my head, she used glue to bond hair to the sides of my head!! She was also supposed to color my hair jet black prior to my weave, but she dyed my hair an off-black color so the jet black hair and my own hair didn't match. IT LOOKED A HOT MESS!! I left and when I got home I spoke with the owner, Barry Fletcher. He listened to my complaint regarding his stylist, Connie Fisher and made no excuses. He even said "What would make you happy?" Usually the first thing out of an owners mouth is an excuse or to blame the customer, but not the Hair Palace. I agreed to let Kiana Baker fix my hair from start to finish. KIANA is the kind of stylist that makes you believe in a salon! Her skills are GENIUS and her customer service is over the top! She removed the entire weave, including the bonded pieces. It took HOURS because the glue was stubborn, but she got it all out. Kiana even offered me a glass of wine, then continued to work on my hair non-stop, not even for lunch! She did a deep conditioner and a root stimulator as well! KIANA was just amazing. Before she did anything, Kiana talked to me to find out about my hair history and to find out how I wanted my weave to look. Connie Fisher didn't ask me anything until she was done. Connie even told me that the mess she made of my hair was my fault! She needs to go through customer service training and additional skills training. Until that happens, I would not recommend Connie to anyone! You have to know what your client wants before you start working on their hair. Kiana added additional hair to support the thinning sides. Where I had breaking hair, I now have HAIR! No glue...all WEAVE! I can't say enough about Kiana's work, her professionalism, and Barry Fletcher's desire to make sure I was happy. When things go wrong in a salon, how the management handles it makes all the difference. I feel that Kiana, Melanie and Barry Fletcher are the heart and soul of the Hair Palace and I highly recommend them. One bad apple doesn't spoil the whole bunch! KIANA is my go to stylist for life!

This Salon was a major disappointment. Unfortunately, the stylist in this salon are not up to date with the latest trends of hair styling, such as cutting, coloring or just a simple hair style. Berry Fletcher's salon "The Hair Palace" is a bit over rated. My experience while getting my hair done consisted of listening to the stylist talk about how they did not like utilizing Berry Fletcher's hair care products. Mr. Fletcher treated my hair with his product and then referred me to another stylist because he could not do a style I provided him with in a book. Mr. Fletcher should have stayed in retirement! What a disappointment

Even though Barry Fletcher Sells Natural Hair products he DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO DO NATURAL HAIR. Ladies and Men please steer clear of him. He pretended as if he could do my hair. He colored and conditioned it then when I sat in his chair he said "I'm not going to fake with you I can't do your hair." I could not believe it. He tried to get me to schedule an appt. with the natural hair stylist in the salon. If he could not do natural hair why did he even try? I ended up walking out of the salon with wet hair. DO NOT GO TO his salon if you have natural hair because he will jack your head up
